The 1999 Australian Open was a tennis tournament played on Hardcourt, outdoor hard courts at Melbourne Park in Melbourne in Victoria (Australia), Victoria in Australia. It was the 87th edition of the Australian Open and was held from 18 through 31 January 1999. This was the first Grand Slam of the calendar year. Virginie Razzano
Virginie Razzano (born 12 May 1983) is a French former professional tennis player. She won two WTA Tour singles titles, both in 2007. Razzano reached her career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 16 on 14 September 2009. She represented France in the Fed Cup from 2001 to 2014; her overall Fed Cup win–loss record is 16–9 (singles 10–5, doubles 6–4). Career 2005 She was chosen by Georges Goven to play in the Fed Cup first round when Tatiana Golovin had an injury and Marion Bartoli and Émilie Loit were suspended. Laura Granville
Laura Granville (born May 12, 1981) is an American former professional tennis player. During the two years she spent at Stanford University, she set the record for most consecutive singles victories with 58 and finished with an overall record of 93–3. Granville won the NCAA Championship in singles as well as the ITA Player of the Year in both 2000 and 2001. In 2001, Stanford won the women's tennis national team championship, and Granville was also a doubles finalist. She retired in 2010 after seven full years on the WTA Tour and returned to Stanford, where she completed her studies and graduated in 2012. She was inducted into the Stanford University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. Granville is now in her sixth season as the head coach of the Princeton University women's tennis team. Hannah Collin (born 18 February 1982) is an English former professional tennis player. Collin competed at her home Grand Slam, Wimbledon, on three consecutive occasions from 2000 to 2002 and also for Great Britain in the Europe/Africa Zone at the 2000 edition of the Fed Cup. Zuzana Kučová (; born 26 June 1982) is a former Slovak tennis player. She won eight singles titles and four doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 7 June 2010, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 101. In December 2009, she peaked at No. 175 in the WTA doubles rankings. She is the sister of Kristína Kučová, also professional tennis player.
