1997–98 Alabama Crimson Tide Men's Basketball Team
The 1997–98 Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team represented the University of Alabama in the 1997–98 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team's head coach was David Hobbs, who was in his sixth, and final season at Alabama. The team played their home games at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They finished the season with a record of 15–16, with a conference record of 6–10, which placed them in fourth place in the SEC Western Division. The Tide defeated Vanderbilt in the first round of the 1997 SEC men's basketball tournament, but lost to Kentucky in the quarterfinal. The Tide did not an invite to a postseason tournament, meaning the Tide had missed the postseason for a second consecutive season. David Hobbs (basketball)
David A. Hobbs (born April 25, 1949) is an American former basketball coach. Hobbs previously served as a special assistant to Iowa State's head coach Steve Prohm. He was the men's head coach at the University of Alabama from 1992 to 1998 and also was an assistant coach at Alabama, the University of Kentucky and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Early years Hobbs was born in Lynchburg, Virginia. He lettered his junior and senior seasons (1970–71) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he earned a bachelor's degree in education (1972) after spending his first two seasons playing at Virginia's Ferrum Junior College. The Sam Houston Bearkats men's basketball team, represents Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Case Gym
Case Gym is a 1,800-seat multi-purpose arena at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. It opened in 1972 as part of the Harold Case Physical Education Center, which is named after the university's fifth president, Harold C. Case. The gym is referred to as "The Roof" because it is located on the top level of the building, above Walter Brown Arena.
