Hammer Throw
The hammer throw (HT for short) is one of the four throwing events in regular outdoor track-and-field competitions, along with the discus throw, shot put and Javelin throw, javelin. The hammer used in this sport is not like any of the tools also called by that name. It consists of a metal ball attached by a steel wire to a grip. These three components are each separate and can move independently. Both the size and weight of the ball vary between men's and women's events. The women's hammer weighs for college and professional meets while the men's hammer weighs . Kevin McMahon (born May 26, 1972) is a retired track and field athlete from the United States, who competed in the hammer throw. McMahon graduated from Georgetown University in 1994 with an AB in English and Fine Arts. He represented his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. Nicola Vizzoni
Nicola Vizzoni (born 4 November 1973 in Pietrasanta, Province of Lucca) is a male hammer thrower from Italy. He won the silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics and ten years later at the 2010 European Athletics Championships. His personal best throw is 80.50 metres, achieved in July 2001 in Formia. He has won 19 medals (8 gold, 8 silver, 3 bronze) at the International athletics competitions. Vizzoni is the coach of the Italian national team for the hammer throw. Biography He made his first appearance at the World Championships in Athletics in 1997 but he did not make the final. Koji Murofushi
is a Japanese former hammer thrower and sports scientist. He has been among the world elite since the 2001 World Championships, where he won the silver medal. He was the 2004 Olympic champion.
