The Australia women's rugby league tour of New Zealand was the first formal tour by the women's national team. It was also the first visit of a national women's rugby league team to New Zealand. Two of the four matches were full internationals. These were the sixth and seventh international matches played in women's rugby league. Trish Hina
Trish Hina (born 3 May 1977) is a female rugby union player. She plays for and Auckland rugby union team, Auckland. She has also represented New Zealand in rugby league, touch rugby and softball. She attended Naenae College Hina was a member of the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup winning squad. In rugby league, Hina debuted for the national team in 1997, scoring five tries in the two Test matches against Australia. This performance was recognised by the New Zealand Rugby League with their Women's Player of the Year Award. Hina played against the touring Great Britain side in 1998. Hina participated in three Women's Rugby League World Cup tournaments: 2000 Women's Rugby League World Cup, 2000, 2003 Women's Rugby League World Cup, 2003 and 2008 Women's Rugby League World Cup, 2008, all of which were won by New Zealand. New South Wales Women's Rugby League Team
The New South Wales Women's rugby league team represents the Australian state of New South Wales in Women's rugby league football. Also known as the Blues due to their sky blue jerseys, the team competes in the annual State of Origin series against the neighboring team, the Queensland Women's rugby league team. History The first state of Origin match began in 1999. Since that time, a 17-year reign had been completed by the Queensland side. New South Wales won their first interstate challenge in 2016 after coming so close to winning in 2015, drawing with Queensland 4 all. New South Wales would then win back to back title winning in 2017. 1993 NSWRL Season
The 1993 NSWRL season (known as the 1993 Winfield Cup Premiership for sponsorship reasons) was the eighty-sixth season of professional rugby league football in Australia. The New South Wales Rugby League's sixteen teams competed for the J. J. Giltinan Shield during the season, which culminated in a replay of the previous year's grand final for the Winfield Cup trophy between the Brisbane Broncos and St. George Dragons. As Sydney celebrated winning the 2000 Olympic Games, Brisbane spoiled the party by retaining the NSWRL premiership. Season summary This season the 10-metre rule was introduced, which required the defensive team to retreat 10 metres from where the ball is being played, allowing more room for attacking players. The New Zealand national rugby league team () has represented New Zealand in rugby league since 1907. The Glenora Bears are a rugby league football club based in Glen Eden, Glen Eden, New Zealand who compete in Auckland Rugby League's Fox Memorial competition. History The club was established in 1931 Auckland Rugby League season, 1931 when the Auckland Rugby League Junior Management Committee accepted their application for membership in June of that year whereby they would enter a team in the Third Grade intermediate competition. Richmond Rovers
The Richmond Rovers Rugby League Club is a rugby league club based in Grey Lynn, New Zealand. The premier team is called the Richmond Bulldogs/Richmond Rovers and compete in Auckland Rugby League's first grade Fox Memorial competition. They have won the first grade championship on 12 occasions. Early history The club was formed in 1913 by employees at Mr. B. W. Davis' Boot Factory and Elliott's, following a scratch game in 1912. They didn't in fact play an official game until 1914 when they affiliated with the Grafton Athletic club and entered a team in the 4th grade and played in the Grafton Athletic colours. In 1883 the land surrounding Grey Lynn Park was subdivided and the houses were built. The area that is now Grey Lynn Park was too steep to build houses on and so, in 1914, the area was drained and flattened so sport could be played.
