1995–96 Orlando Magic Season
The 1995–96 NBA season was the seventh season for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association. The Magic were coming off their trip to the 1995 NBA Finals, where they were swept in four straight games by the 1994-95 Houston Rockets season, Houston Rockets. During the off-season, the team signed free agent Jon Koncak. The Magic started the regular season without Shaquille O'Neal, who missed the first 22 games due to a preseason thumb injury. Penny Hardaway stepped up in O'Neal's absence, and was named the Player of the Month for November, as the Magic got off to a 13–2 start to the season, and later on held a 34–14 record at the All-Star break. Brian Hill (basketball)
Brian Alfred Hill (born September 19, 1947) is an American former professional basketball coach. Early life Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Hill graduated from Our Lady of the Valley High School in Orange, New Jersey in 1965 and John F. Kennedy College in Nebraska in 1969 with a degree in physical education. Hill was a three-year starter on the Kennedy basketball team. Coaching career In 1970, Hill began his coaching career as head coach at Clifford Scott High School in his native East Orange, New Jersey. Hill then was an assistant coach at Montclair State University#Athletics, Montclair State College from 1972 to 1974. Jeff Turner
Jeffrey Steven Turner (born April 9, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player and broadcasting announcer. Turner played ten NBA seasons (1984–1987; 1989–1996), spending time with the New Jersey Nets as well as the Orlando Magic. He ended his NBA career with 3,697 career points. Turner was a 6' 9" forward/ center. After his career ended he spent nine years as a radio color commentator for the Magic. He then served as the head boys basketball coach at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, Florida from to 2005 to 2013, where he compiled a 151–72 record and won the state title in 2013. 1996 NBA All-Star Game
The 1996 NBA All-Star Game was the 46th edition of the NBA All-Star Game, an exhibition basketball game played on February 11, 1996. The event was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio and was a part of the 50th season of the NBA. The game was televised nationally by NBC in the United States and by CTV in Canada. There were 36,037 people in attendance. Michael Jordan put on a show for the fans in his first game back from retirement and ended up receiving the game's Most Valuable Player award. Brian Shaw (basketball)
Brian Keith Shaw (born March 22, 1966) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played both Guard (basketball), guard positions, but was used primarily at point guard in his 14 seasons in the NBA. He won three NBA championships playing with the Los Angeles Lakers. Nelison "Nick" Anderson (born January 20, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who played for the Orlando Magic, Sacramento Kings, and Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). NBA All-Defensive Team
The NBA All-Defensive Team is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) honor given since the 1968–69 NBA season to the best defensive players during the regular season. The All-Defensive Team is generally composed of ten players in two five-man lineups, a first and a second team. Voting is conducted by a panel of 123 writers and broadcasters. Horace Junior Grant Sr. (born July 4, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player who is a special advisor for Michael Reinsdorf, the president and chief operating officer of the Chicago Bulls. 1995–96 Atlanta Hawks Season
The 1995–96 NBA season was the 47th season for the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association, and their 28th season in Atlanta, Georgia. The Hawks received the sixteenth overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft, and selected power forward Alan Henderson out of Indiana University. During the off-season, the team re-acquired former Hawks guard, and one-time Slam Dunk champion Spud Webb from the Sacramento Kings; Webb played for the Hawks from 1985 to 1991. The team also replaced Stacey Augmon as the team's starting small forward with Ken Norman, as Augmon played a sixth man role off the bench for the first half of the regular season. The Hawks played above .500 basketball with a 9–5 start in November, but then struggled losing 10 of their 14 games in December. Eastern Conference (NBA)
The Eastern Conference is one of two conferences that make up the National Basketball Association (NBA), the other being the Western Conference.
