During the 1995–96 English football season, Ipswich Town competed in the Football League First Division. Season summary Having served on the board of directors since 1986, David Sheepshanks was appointed as club chairman in August 1995. In George Burley's first season in charge, Ipswich failed to get back in Premier League at the first attempt, falling one place short of the First Division play-off zone, after failing to beat Millwall in the last game of the season. They were the leading goalscorers in the top four divisions with 79 goals. Ipswich's biggest defeat of the season was a 5-1 home defeat to Charlton Athletic. Christopher William Swailes (born 19 October 1970) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is manager of Dunston UTS. Playing career Early days Swailes was a trainee bus driver at Ipswich Town from 1989 to 1991, eventually moving to Peterborough United on 28 March 1991 for a fee of £10,000, after turning down a contract offered by the Ipswich manager at the time, John Lyall. Five months later, he moved on to Boston United of the GM Vauxhall Conference on a free transfer, after feeling homesick for the North East. Tony Mowbray
Anthony Mark Mowbray (born 22 November 1963) is an English football manager and former footballer who was most recently the manager of EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion. Mowbray played for Middlesbrough, Celtic and Ipswich Town as a defender. He began his coaching career with Ipswich Town and took his first managerial job at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, where he won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Manager of the Year award in his first season. He moved on to West Bromwich Albion in 2006, where he won the Football League Championship in 2008, but then suffered relegation from the Premier League the following year. Port Vale Football Club are a professional football club based in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, which compete in , the third tier of the English football league system. Richard Wright (footballer)
Richard Ian Wright (born 5 November 1977) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is a goalkeeping coach for Premier League club Manchester City. As a player he was a goalkeeper. He joined Ipswich Town as a trainee, going on to play for the club 298 times between 1995 and 2001. He then moved to Premier League club Arsenal, before being signed by Everton in 2002, where he spent five years. A brief spell on loan from West Ham United with Southampton was followed by a transfer back to Ipswich Town. After a short spell at Sheffield United, a third stint at Ipswich and a brief time at Preston North End, he joined Premier League champions Manchester City on a free transfer in 2012. Neil Richard Gregory (born 7 October 1972) is an English former professional footballer. A striker, he played for several clubs in the Football League. Biography Born in Ndola, Zambia, Gregory began his career as an apprentice with Ipswich Town, turning professional in February 1992. His brother David was also a professional footballer. Craig Lorne Forrest (born 20 September 1967) is a Canadian former professional soccer player and sports commentator. As a player, he was a goalkeeper from 1985 until 2002, playing his entire career in England.
