1993–94 Norwich City F.C. Season
During the 1993–94 English football season, Norwich City F.C. competed in the Premier League. Season summary Norwich City's achievements in 1992–93 were outstanding - a club-best third-place finish and their first ever European place, all of this achieved with a relatively tight transfer budget and one of the Premiership's smaller fan bases. Manager Mike Walker's achievements were far from over as the campaign began. They were close behind runaway leaders Manchester United in the title race, but most impressively eliminated Bayern Munich from the UEFA Cup in the second round; in doing so, they became the only English side to beat Bayern on their own soil. The dream came to an end in the third round as the Canaries were eliminated by Inter Milan. Walker quit the club in January to take over at Everton, and his assistant John Deehan took over. Mark Bowen (footballer)
Mark Rosslyn Bowen (born 7 December 1963) is a Welsh football manager and former professional footballer. He is currently Director of Football at Forest Green Rovers. A left-back who also played in midfield, Bowen played in the Premier League for Norwich City, West Ham United and Charlton Athletic, having initially played in the top flight with Tottenham Hotspur. He also played in the Football League with Wigan Athletic and Reading, as well as in Japan with Shimizu S-Pulse. He was capped 41 times by Wales, scoring 3 goals. Jeremy Goss
Jeremy Goss (born 11 May 1965) is a football coach and former professional player who played as a midfielder. He is most noted for playing for Norwich City from 1984 to 1996, which saw several seasons in the Premier League as well as featuring in the UEFA Cup. He came to prominence during their successful period in the mid-1990s, and was known for scoring spectacularly but not often, and was noted for his superior volleying skills and high level of stamina. He also played in the Scottish Premier League for Hearts, in the Football League for Colchester United and in non-league football with King's Lynn. Born in Cyprus, he was capped nine times by Wales. Ruel Adrian Fox (born 14 January 1968) is a former professional footballer and the club chairman of Whitton United. As a player he was a midfielder who played in the Premier League for Norwich City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. He also played in the Football League for West Bromwich Albion. He was capped twice at England B level, but later, despite it being two years since retiring, he awarded himself two caps for Montserrat whilst serving as head coach. Robert Nigel Newman (born 13 December 1963) is an English football manager and former professional footballer, who was most recently head of recruitment at Premier League side West Ham United. As a player, he was a defender, notably playing in the Premier League for Norwich City, where he also featured in the UEFA Cup. Oldham is a town in Greater Manchester, England. It lies amongst the Pennines on elevated ground between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale, and northeast of Manchester. Mike Milligan (footballer)
Michael Milligan (born 20 February 1967) is a football coach and former professional player. He left school in 1983 and signed for Oldham Athletic, establishing himself as a regular midfielder in the later part of the 1980s and helping them reach the FA Cup semi-final and Football League Cup final (which they lost to Nottingham Forest) in the 1989–90. After the end of the season, he signed for Everton in a £1 million deal, but the move was not a success and after just one season at Goodison Park, Joe Royle bought him back to Oldham, who had just returned to the top flight after a 68-year exile. Milligan resumed his key role in the Oldham side that survived three seasons in the top flight (Premier League from 1992), helping them reach another FA Cup semi final in 1994, before leaving to join Norwich City after Oldham's relegation from the Premier League.
