1993–94 New Jersey Devils Season
The 1993–94 New Jersey Devils season was the 20th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974, and 12th season since the franchise relocated from Colorado prior to the 1982–83 NHL season. For the fourth consecutive season, the Devils qualified for the playoffs. In the playoffs, the Devils made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Final where they came within a game of advancing to the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. Calder Memorial Trophy
The Calder Memorial Trophy is an annual award given "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League (NHL)." It is named after Frank Calder, the first president of the NHL. Serving as the NHL's Rookie of the Year award, this version of the trophy has been awarded since its creation for the 1936–37 NHL season. The Winnipeg Jets were a professional ice hockey team based in Winnipeg. They began play in the World Hockey Association (WHA) in 1972.
