1993–94 Loyola Greyhounds Men's Basketball Team
The 1993–94 Loyola Greyhounds men's basketball team represented Loyola University Maryland during the 1993–94 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Greyhounds, led by head coach Skip Prosser, played their home games at Reitz Arena and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 17–13, 6–8 in MAAC play to finish in fifth place. The Greyhounds made an unexpected run to capture the 1994 MAAC men's basketball tournament, MAAC Basketball tournament and earned the conference's automatic bid into the 1994 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 1994 NCAA tournament the first appearance in program history. Skip Prosser
George Edward "Skip" Prosser (November 3, 1950 – July 26, 2007) was an American college basketball coach who was head men's basketball coach at Wake Forest University at the time of his death. He is the only coach in NCAA history to take three separate schools to the NCAA tournament in their first year coaching. In 21 years as a collegiate coach, he made 18 postseason appearances. Previously, he coached Xavier University for seven seasons, where he achieved great success. He spent his first year coaching at the collegiate level at Loyola College in Maryland, taking the Greyhounds to the team's first modern-day NCAA Tournament appearance. Prosser was the Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2003. Knott Arena
Knott Arena is a multi-purpose sports arena at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. It opened in 1987 and is home to the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers men's basketball and women's basketball teams. The arena has a seating capacity of approximately 3,200 for basketball and 4,000 for other events. In 2006, the home court was named in honor of longtime men's basketball head coach Jim Phelan, who amassed a school-record 830 wins between 1954 and 2003. The arena is part of the larger Knott Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex (ARCC), which serves as an athletic and recreation center. Bender Arena is a 4,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Washington, D.C. The arena opened in 1988. It is home to the men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams at American University.
