1993–94 George Mason Patriots Men's Basketball Team
The 1993–94 George Mason Patriots Men's basketball team represented George Mason University during the 1993–94 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was the 28th season for the program, the first under head coach Paul Westhead. The Patriots played their home games at the EagleBank Arena, Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia. In the 1994 CAA men's basketball tournament, CAA tournament, the Patriots lost to UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball, UNC Wilmington in the quarterfinals. Paul Westhead
Paul William Westhead (born February 21, 1939) is an American former basketball coach. He was the head coach for three National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and an assistant for four others, and also coached in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), American Basketball Association (ABA), and Japan Basketball League (JBL). In his first year as an NBA head coach, he led a rookie Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers to the 1980 NBA Finals, which they won in six games for the team's first title in eight years. Westhead won titles in both the NBA and WNBA, and he is also remembered as the coach of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) men's basketball team. Freedom Hall is a multi-purpose arena in Louisville, Kentucky, on the grounds of the Kentucky Exposition Center, which is owned by the Kentucky State Fair Board. Hynes Athletic Center
The James P. Hynes Athletics Center is a 2,578-seat multi-purpose arena in New Rochelle, New York. It was built in 1974 and is home to the Iona University Gaels basketball and volleyball teams. In 2005, the building was renamed the Hynes Center, after being formerly known as the John A. Mulcahy Campus Events Center. Between the summer and fall of 2019, Hynes Athletics Center received a total of $6.5 million to expand and modernize the athletic center. The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The Rams joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2012–13 season after previously competing in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
