The shot put is a track-and-field event involving "putting" (throwing) a heavy spherical Ball (sports), ball—the ''shot''—as far as possible. Kevin Toth (born December 29, 1967, in Cleveland, Ohio) is an Americans, American former shot put athlete. His personal best throw was in 2003, which places him tenth on the all-time performers list (). In 2004, the United States Anti-Doping Agency announced that Toth received a two-year ban following a positive test for use of tetrahydrogestrinone (THG). Toth subsequently retired from competing. Klaus Bodenmüller (born 6 September 1962) is an Austrian former track and field athlete who competed in the shot put. He is Austria's best ever performer in the event and holds the Austrian records at outdoors and indoors. Chima Kingsley Ugwu (born 19 July 1973 in Enugu) is a Nigerian shot putter. He also occasionally competed in discus throw. He competed at the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Summer Olympics, and the World Championships in 1993, 1997 and 2003 without reaching the finals. Ugwu came to the United States in 1994 and won the 1995 NJCAA outdoor shot put title while attending Central Arizona College.
