The 1992–93 Memphis State Tigers men's basketball team represented Memphis State University as a member of the Great Midwest Conference during the 1992–93 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Larry Finch
Larry O. Finch (February 16, 1951 – April 2, 2011) was an American player and coach for the University of Memphis men's basketball team. He led the Memphis Tigers to the NCAA men's basketball championship game in 1973, where they lost to the UCLA Bruins led by Bill Walton. Playing career Finch was born in Memphis, and played basketball for Melrose High School in the Orange Mound section of Memphis. He then entered Memphis State and played basketball under famed basketball coach Gene Bartow. This decision was somewhat controversial for both Memphis' black and white communities, given the recent assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and the resultant heightened strain on race relations in Memphis, not to mention so few local African-American prep stars had been able to wear a Tiger uniform to that point. Barnhill Arena
Barnhill Arena is a 10,000-seat multipurpose arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas, now used primarily for volleyball. The arena opened in 1954 and was home to the University of Arkansas Razorbacks (men's) and (women's) basketball teams before they moved to Bud Walton Arena in 1993. Prior to that, the arena had been considered to be one of the toughest to play in, first in the Southwest Conference and then in the Southeastern Conference, especially when Nolan Richardson and Eddie Sutton were coaches; it earned the nickname "Barnhell Arena" because of its rabid student section. After the opening of the new arena, the university converted Barnhill Arena into a volleyball and gymnastics-specific facility, and the Ladybacks' volleyball and gymnastics teams have played there ever since. Williams Arena
Williams Arena is an indoor arena located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the home arena for the University of Minnesota's men's and women's basketball teams. It also housed the men's hockey team until 1993, when it moved into its own building, 3M Arena at Mariucci. The 1992 Maui Invitational Tournament was an early-season college basketball tournament that was played, for the 9th time, from December 21 to 23, 1992. The tournament, which began in 1984, was part of the 1992-93 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament was played at the Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawaii and was won by the Duke Blue Devils. It was the first title for the program and its head coach Mike Krzyzewski. The 1992–93 Tulane Green Wave men's basketball team represented Tulane University in the 1992–93 college basketball season. This was head coach Perry Clark's fourth season at Tulane. The Green Wave competed in the Metro Conference and played their home games at Devlin Fieldhouse. They finished the season 22–9 (9–3 in Metro play) and finished second in the conference regular season standings.
