The 1991–92 season in Argentina saw River Plate win the Apertura championship and Newell's Old Boys win the Clausura championship. Darío Scotto
Darío Oscar Scotto (born September 1, 1969, in Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine footballer. He currently played club football in Argentina Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Chile and Bolivia and played for the Argentina national football team. Scotto started his professional career with Platense in 1987. He became a consistent goalscorer, tying Diego Latorre as the topscorer of the 1992 Clausura. this achievement won him a call up to the Argentina national team and a move to Spanish side Sporting de Gijón. In 1993 Scotto was signed by Mexican club Necaxa but he soon returned to Argentina where he signed for Rosario Central. In 1995, he joined Boca Juniors where he played alongside Diego Maradona. Diego Latorre
Diego Fernando Latorre (born 4 August 1969) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a striker or as an offensive midfielder. Career Latorre was born in Buenos Aires. He made his professional debut for Boca Juniors on 18 October 1987 against Platense scoring his first goal at the same match. He won the 1991 Argentine league with Boca Juniors. His good performance took him to play with the Argentina national football team scoring his first goal in a Copa America match against Peru. In 1992, he joined Fiorentina with Gabriel Batistuta after the pair helped Argentina to win the Copa America in 1991. While Batistuta eventually became one of Fiorentina's all-time greats, Latorre only made two appearances with the club, and quickly left for Tenerife in La Liga.
