1991–92 Slovenian Football Cup
The 1991–92 Slovenian Football Cup was the first season of the Slovenian Football Cup, Slovenia's football knockout competition, and the last that was played by the old rules from SR Slovenia. All Slovenian clubs competed in their regional MNZ Cups, with eight winners securing their place in the quarter-finals of the Slovenian Cup. From there on clubs played by the East/West system to the final. NK Maribor
Nogometni klub Maribor () is a Slovenian professional Association football, football club based in Maribor, Slovenia. It competes in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, the top tier of the Football in Slovenia#League system, Slovenian football league system. Nicknamed "The Purples" ('), the club was founded on 12 December 1960. Nogometno društvo Gorica, commonly referred to as ND Gorica or simply Gorica, is a Slovenian football club based in Nova Gorica that competes in the Slovenian Second League, the second tier of Slovenian football. Saša Gajser (born 11 February 1974) is a Slovenian professional football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. He was internationally capped for Slovenia, earning 27 appearances between 1999 and 2003. Club career Gajser started his professional career with Maribor in 1992. He stayed there for three seasons, making 22 appearances in all competitions. Later, he had spells with the second division sides Drava Ptuj and Ljubljana. After a season at Beltinci, he signed with Rudar Velenje. He stayed there for two seasons, appearing in 64 league matches and scoring 6 goals before leaving for KAA Gent. Željko Milinovič (born 12 October 1969) is a Slovenian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He represented his country at the two major tournaments for which they qualified, the Euro 2000 and the World Cup 2002. Club career Born in Ljubljana, Milinovič began his football career with local side Slovan. After half of the 1991–92 season he moved to Olimpija Ljubljana, where he won three consecutive Slovenian Championships and one Slovenian Cup. After a season at Ljubljana, he moved to Maribor. Zoran Ubavič (28 October 1965 – 21 November 2015) was a Slovenian footballer who played as a forward. Ubavič spent his entire career playing for Slovenian clubs and was also capped once for the Slovenia national team, on 3 June 1992 in a friendly against Estonia in Tallinn. He was the top scorer of the Slovenian PrvaLiga in its inaugural 1991–92 season, and is Olimpija's all-time leading goalscorer with 167 goals in 283 games across all competitions.
