1991–92 Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens Men's Basketball Team
The 1991–92 Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens men's basketball team represented the University of Delaware during the 1991–92 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Fightin' Blue Hens, led by seventh-year head coach Steve Steinwedel, played their home games at the Delaware Field House and were members of the North Atlantic Conference. They finished the season 27–4, 14–0 in NAC play to win the conference regular season championship. Steve Steinwedel
Steve Steinwedel (born July 18, 1953) is an American former college basketball coach who most notably coached for ten seasons at Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens men's basketball, Delaware. Coaching career After a player career at Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball, Mississippi State, Steinwedel began his coaching career as an assistant at Stetson Hatters men's basketball, Stetson, before moving on to assistant coaching spots at West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball, West Virginia, Duke Blue Devils men's basketball, Duke, and South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball, South Carolina. He was named the head coach at Delaware in 1985. Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens
The Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens are the athletic teams of the University of Delaware (UD) of Newark, Delaware, in the United States. The Blue Hens compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as members of the Coastal Athletic Association and its technically separate football league, CAA Football. On November 28, 2023, UD and Conference USA (CUSA) jointly announced that UD would start a transition to the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) in 2024 and join CUSA in 2025. UD will continue to compete in both sides of the CAA in 2024–25; it will be ineligible for the FCS playoffs due to NCAA rules for transitioning programs, but will be eligible for all non-football CAA championships.
