1990–91 Winnipeg Jets Season
The 1990–91 Winnipeg Jets season was the Jets' 19th season, their 12th season in the National Hockey League. The Jets placed fifth in the Smythe and did not qualify for the 1991 Stanley Cup playoffs. Off-season The Winnipeg Jets made a blockbuster trade at the 1990 NHL entry draft on June 15, 1990, sending Dale Hawerchuk and their first-round pick in the same draft to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Phil Housley, Scott Arniel, Jeff Parker and the Sabres' first-round pick in the same draft. Hawerchuk, who had been with the Jets since the 1981–82 season, was coming off a season with 26 goals and 81 points, both career-lows, in 79 games. Housley, a defenceman, had 21 goals and 81 points in 80 games for the Sabres in the 1989–90 season, while Arniel had 18 goals and 32 points in 79 games with Buffalo. Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres are a professional ice hockey team based in Buffalo, New York. The Sabres compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division (NHL), Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. 1982–83 Winnipeg Jets Season
The 1982–83 Winnipeg Jets season was the 11th season of the Winnipeg Jets, their fourth season in the National Hockey League. Offseason After a very successful 1981–82 season, in which the club made the playoffs for the first time since joining the NHL in 1979, the Jets had a quiet off-season. With the Colorado Rockies moving to East Rutherford, New Jersey and becoming the New Jersey Devils, the NHL underwent realignment, and the Jets were shifted from the Norris Division back to the Smythe Division, where the team spent their first two seasons from 1979 to 1981. Winnipeg joined the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks to form the five team division. Bob Brooke
Robert Wesley Brooke (born December 18, 1960) is an American former professional ice hockey forward who played 447 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, and New Jersey Devils between 1984 and 1990. Internationally Brooke played for the American national team at several tournaments, including the 1984 Winter Olympics and the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cups, as well as three World Championships. Playing career Brooke was the first of the "AB Pros," the handful of NHL players that grew up through the Acton-Boxborough youth hockey program of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s (Tom Barrasso, Ted Crowley, Bob Sweeney, Ian Moran, and Jeff Norton). The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey. The Devils compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. Laurie Boschman
Laurie Joseph Boschman (born June 4, 1960) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 14 seasons for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Winnipeg Jets, New Jersey Devils and Ottawa Senators. In his final NHL season, Boschman served as the first captain of the Ottawa Senators. Boschman was born in Major, Saskatchewan, but grew up in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. Alexei Zhamnov
Alexei Yuryevich "Alex" Zhamnov (; born October 1, 1970) is a former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins. He is currently serving the head coach of HC Spartak Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Malden Catholic High School is a private, Catholic secondary school located in Malden, Massachusetts. The school was founded by the Congregation of the Brothers of St. Francis Xavier, an international congregation of religious brothers. Keith Matthew Tkachuk (; born March 28, 1972) is an Americans, American former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) in an 18-year career with the Winnipeg Jets (1972–1996), Winnipeg Jets, Arizona Coyotes, Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues and Atlanta Thrashers, retiring in 2010. He is one of four American-born players to score 500 goals, and is the sixth American player to score 1,000 points. Tkachuk is considered to be among the elite power forward (ice hockey), power forwards of his era, and one of the best American-born players to play in the NHL.
