Aberdeen F.C. competed in the Scottish Premier Division, Scottish League Cup, Scottish Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup in season 1990–91. Overview The 1990–91 season finished on a low note for Aberdeen, as they led the championship going into the final day of the season but lost to Rangers, which gave the opposition the league title. Aberdeen's defence of the Scottish Cup ended at the first hurdle when eventual winners Motherwell defeated them at Pittodrie in January 1991. In the League Cup, Aberdeen lost to Rangers in the semi-final, while in the European Cup Winners' Cup, they lost at the second round stage to Polish club Legia Warsaw. Hans Gillhaus and Eoin Jess finished as joint top scorers with 15 goals each. Motherwell F
Motherwell (, ) is a town and former burgh in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, United Kingdom, south east of Glasgow. It has a population of around 32,120. Historically in the parish of Dalziel and part of Lanarkshire, Motherwell is the headquarters for North Lanarkshire Council. Geographically the River Clyde separates Motherwell from Hamilton to the west whereas the South Calder Water separates Motherwell from Carfin to the north-east and New Stevenston and Bellshill towards the north. Jim Bett
James Bett (born 25 November 1959) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played in central or left midfield. He played with Aberdeen for nine seasons and had shorter spells at other clubs in Belgium, Iceland and Scotland. He earned 26 caps for the Scotland national team over eight years. Playing career A Scottish Schoolboy international born in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Bett started his club career with Gartcosh United, Dundee and Airdrieonians before moving to Icelandic side Valur in 1978. A year later he joined K.S.C. Lokeren (282) in Belgium. Rangers manager John Greig paid £150,000 to sign Bett for the Glasgow club in 1980. David Alexander Robertson BEM (born 17 October 1968) is a Scottish former football player and coach, who was most recently the manager of Scottish League One club Peterhead. Robertson played as a left back for Aberdeen, Rangers, Leeds United, Montrose and represented Scotland. Since retiring as a player, he has managed Elgin City, Montrose, Phoenix FC and most recently I-League club Real Kashmir, before being appointed manager of Peterhead in November 2022. Dunfermline (; , ) is a city, parish, and former royal burgh in Fife, Scotland, from the northern shore of the Firth of Forth. Paul David Mason (born 3 September 1963) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder from 1984 until 2000. He played in the Premier League and Football League for Ipswich Town, the Scottish Premier League for Aberdeen and in the Netherlands for Groningen. Playing career Mason played for Liverpool Schoolboys from the under 12s through to the under 16s. At the age of 16, he joined his lifelong heroes, Everton FC, as a youth player.
