1990 FIFA World Cup
The 1990 FIFA World Cup was the 14th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial Association football, football tournament for men's senior national teams. It was held from 8 June to 8 July 1990 in Italy, the second country to host the event for a second time (the first being Mexico in 1986 FIFA World Cup, 1986). Marc Emmers
Marc Jozef Emmers (born 25 February 1966 in Hamont-Achel) is a retired Belgian footballer. His former clubs include KV Mechelen, R.S.C. Anderlecht and AC Lugano. With K.V. Mechelen, he won the Belgian Cup in 1987, the European Cup Winner's Cup and the European Super Cup in 1988 and the Belgian First Division title in 1989. After his transfer to R.S.C. Anderlecht in the mid-1990s, he won the Belgian First Division title three times from 1994 to 97. Emmers was a versatile player who was mainly played out as a midfielder. Through his career, he played at the position of libero, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder and right-back. Chung Yong-Hwan
Chung Yong-hwan (, 10 February 1960 – 7 June 2015) was a South Korean football player and manager. Playing career Chung played as a one-club man for K League club Daewoo Royals after graduating from Korea University. He led Daewoo to three K League titles and once won the league MVP award. Considered one of the best K League defenders during the 1980s, Chung also played for South Korean national team. He largely contributed to South Korea's qualification for the 1986 FIFA World Cup, and was named the Most Valuable Player by Korea Football Association after qualifiers. He played all three of South Korea's group matches in the 1986 World Cup, but failed to advance to the knockout stage. Choi Kang-Hee (footballer)
Choi Kang-hee (; born 12 April 1959) is a South Korean football manager and former player; he is the currently head coach of Chinese Super League club Shandong Taishan. Club career Choi played for Hanil Bank and Army FC in the Korean Semi-professional League. After he accomplished his military service in ROK Army, South Korea's professional league (K League) was founded at a similar time, and he started his professional career by joining a K League club POSCO Dolphins. However, he transferred to Hyundai Horang-i after hearing the news of its foundation. He became a founding member of Hyundai Horang-i, and spent the rest of his playing career in there. He retired at the end of the 1992 season after a row with the club's manager Cha Bum-kun over Cha's training methods. Park Kyung-hoon (; born 19 January 1961) is a South Korean football manager and former player. Park played for the South Korea national team in 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cup. He also won the 1986 Asian Games with the national team. Club career Born in the slum of Seoul, ( Suyu-dong) Park had liked art originally, but he changed his career path to be a footballer due to his financial problem when becoming a high school student. He spent his professional career in POSCO Atoms, and won three titles in the K League. In the 1988 season, he was named the Most Valuable Player, but he thought that his teammate Lee Kee-keun should deserve the award. Guy Jean-Leonard Thys (6 December 1922 – 1 August 2003) was a Belgian football manager, mostly known for being the most successful manager in the history of the Belgium national football team as he managed to lead the national side to their only UEFA European Championship final in 1980 and a fourth–place finish at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. With 114 games between 1976 and 1991, he is the longest-serving national coach in the history of the Red Devils to date. Marc Robert Wilmots (born 22 February 1969) is a Belgian professional football manager and former player who is the sporting director of Standard Liège. During his club career as an attacking midfielder, he won trophies with KV Mechelen, Standard Liège and Schalke 04. He represented the Belgium national team, earning 70 caps. He was in the Belgium squad for the 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Cups, as well as the 2000 Euro which Belgium hosted jointly with the Netherlands. Georges Serge Grün (born 25 January 1962) is a retired Belgian football defender, who currently works as a television presenter for the UEFA Champions League matches at RTL TVI. Gilbert Bodart (born 2 September 1962) is a Belgian football manager and former player. Playing career Bodart was born in Ougrée, Belgium. A goalkeeper, he played a long time with Standard Liège. Bodart also played 12 times with Belgium from 1986 to 1995. In 1996 the goalkeeper moved to the French team of Girondins de Bordeaux. He played few matches with the national team as he was in competition with Jean-Marie Pfaff and then with Michel Preud'homme. Jan Anna Gumaar Ceulemans (; born 28 February 1957) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, Ceulemans was known for his stamina, aerial ability, technique and was also recognized as one of the greatest Belgium footballers of all time. He was also known for his power, imposing frame and natural authority. Ceulemans was also a regular member of the Belgium national football team, with 96 international appearances, a record that stood for 26 years until it was surpassed by Jan Vertonghen's 97th appearance for Belgium on 10 October 2017; Ceulemans is now the ninth most-capped for Belgium.
