1990 Canadian Open – Men's Singles
Michael Chang defeated Jay Berger in the final, 4–6, 6–3, 7–6(7–3) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1990 Canadian Open. With the win, Chang became the youngest Masters champion in history. Ivan Lendl was the three-time reigning champion, but did not compete that year. Michael Chang
Michael Te-pei Chang (born February 22, 1972) is an American former professional tennis player and coach. He was ranked world No. 2 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in 1996. Chang is the youngest man in history to win a singles major, winning the 1989 French Open at 17 years and 109 days old. He won a total of 34 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including seven Masters titles, and was a three-time major runner-up. Chang was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008. Broderick Dyke (born 31 December 1960) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Dyke enjoyed most of his tennis success while playing doubles. Jeff Tarango
Jeffrey Gail Tarango (born November 20, 1968) is a retired American tennis player. He was a top-ten doubles player and a runner-up at the 1999 French Open men's doubles tournament. He is now the Director of Tennis at the Jack Kramer Club, which is just south of Los Angeles. In 2018, he was the tournament director of a $30,000 men's California championships. At that championships, ATP world-ranked No. 11, Sam Querrey, beat Davis Cup captain Mardy Fish to win this event. Tarango now resides in Manhattan Beach, California with his wife and children. Eduardo Vélez (born 20 April 1969) is a former professional tennis player from Mexico. Biography Vélez, who comes from Monterrey, attended Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale and trained at the local tennis academy run by Gary Kesl. He won the Junior Orange Bowl (Under 14s) in 1983 and was the Mexican junior champion in 1984. A Mexican Davis Cup squad member, he twice made the boys' singles final at the Wimbledon Championships. Brad Pearce (born March 21, 1966) is a former tennis player from the United States, who turned professional in 1986. He won four doubles titles during his career. Peter Lundgren
Hans Peter Lundgren (; 29 January 1965 – 22 August 2024) was a Swedish professional tennis player and tennis coach. He preferred playing indoors, hardcourt and on grass to clay. Playing career Lundgren was one of the second generation of Swedish players along with Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg, Joakim Nyström, Anders Järryd, Henrik Sundström, Hans Simonsson, and Kent Carlsson that followed after the success of Björn Borg. Michael Detlef Stich (; born 18 October 1968) is a German former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 2 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), achieved in 1993, and No. 9 in men's doubles, achieved in 1991. Thomas Högstedt (born 21 September 1963) is a Swedish tennis coach and former professional player. He is the former coach of Tommy Haas, Magnus Norman, Eugenie Bouchard, Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sharapova, Li Na, Simona Halep, Madison Keys and Johanna Konta.
