1990–91 UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball Team
The 1990–91 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Jim Harrick, for the third year, was the head coach for the Bruins. The Bruins started the season ranked 11th in the AP Poll and won their first 8 games. They finished in 2nd place in the Pac-10 with the same conference record as the previous year, 11–7. UCLA went on to the NCAA tournament, where they upset by Penn State 74–69. UCLA finished ranked 14th and 16th in the UPI and AP Polls respectively. Jim Harrick
James Richard Harrick (born July 25, 1938) is an American former basketball coach. He was the head coach at UCLA, Pepperdine University, the University of Rhode Island and the University of Georgia over a combined total of 23 seasons. During the 1994–1995 season, he led UCLA to a 31–1 record and the school's eleventh national championship, its first since the 1974–75 season. Biography Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Harrick graduated in 1960 from Morris Harvey College, now known as the University of Charleston. College coaching career Harrick's coaching career began at Morningside High School in Inglewood, California where he served as an assistant coach from 1964 to 1969 and as head coach from 1970 to 1973. Allstate Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Rosemont, Illinois, United States, northwest of Chicago, located at the corner of Mannheim Road and Lunt Avenue, just north of Mannheim Road's interchange with the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) about north of O'Hare International Airport. The 1990–91 Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team represented University of Virginia as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference during the 1990–91 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. George M. Sullivan Arena (commonly shortened to "Sullivan Arena" and often referred to colloquially as "The Sully") is a 6,290-seat arena in Anchorage, Alaska, United States.
