1989–90 Wisconsin Badgers Men's Basketball Team
The 1989–90 Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball team represented the University of Wisconsin as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1989–90 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was coached by Steve Yoder, coaching his eighth season with Wisconsin. The Badgers finished 14–17, 4–14 in Big Ten play to finish in eighth place. Offseason Yoder's top assistant Brad McNulty, suspended without pay since August 1, 1989, was fired just prior to his eighth season at Wisconsin for billing personal phone calls to the university from January 1988 to May 1989. McNulty made 51 calls to Nevada hotel casinos, which cost the university over $2,000 and resulted in a felony charge. Steve Yoder
Stephen Kent Yoder (born November 1, 1939) is an American former college basketball coach. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Ball State University from 1977 to 1982 and the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 1982 to 1992, compiling career college basketball coaching record of 205–227. Yoder most recently served as director of operations for the Houston Cougars men's basketball team. Background Yoder is a native of Plymouth, Indiana and 1958 graduate of Plymouth High School. He attended then NAIA-member Illinois Wesleyan University on a basketball and baseball scholarship winning four letters in baseball and two in basketball before graduating in 1962. He received his master's degree from University of Saint Francis, then called Saint Francis College, in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1970. Beasley Coliseum
Beasley Coliseum is a general-purpose indoor arena in the northwest United States, located on the campus of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. The home venue for the Cougars men's and women's basketball teams of the Pac-12 Conference, it opened in 1973, and its current seating capacity is 12,058 for basketball. The arena was renamed in 1981 for Wallis Beasley (1915–2008), a long-time sociology professor and executive vice shortly before his retirement from the university. He was WSU's faculty representative for athletics in the 1960s and also served as interim university president.
