1988–89 FC Bayern Munich Season
The 1988–89 FC Bayern Munich season was the 89th season in the club's history and 24th season since promotion from Regionalliga Süd in 1965. Bayern won its tenth Bundesliga Title. This title was the fourth title in five seasons. The club reached the third round of the DFB-Pokal and the semifinals of the UEFA Cup. Several changes were made to the roster with eight players leaving via transfer or loan, including Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme and Jean-Marie Pfaff. Six new players joined the club, including Olaf Thon, Stefan Reuter, Roland Grahammer, and Johnny Ekström. Klaus Augenthaler
Klaus "Auge" Augenthaler (born 26 September 1957) is a German former professional football player and manager. A defender, he won seven Bundesliga titles in his 15-year club career with Bayern Munich. He also represented the West Germany national team, winning the FIFA World Cup in 1990. Lee Michael Dixon (born 17 March 1964) is an English pundit and retired professional footballer who played as a right-back. Dixon was also capped 22 times for England. His father Roy was a goalkeeper with Manchester City and many of Dixon's formative years were spent on the terraces at Maine Road. But it was nearby Burnley he joined as a junior and he graduated to the senior team for a handful of games before John Bond released him to Chester City. Alan Smith (footballer Born 1962)
Alan Martin Smith (born 21 November 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker. Smith played for Leicester City and Arsenal in a career that spanned over a decade. Smith was Arsenal's top scorer for four consecutive seasons, and scored the first goal in Arsenal's 2–0 victory at Anfield 26 May 1989 which saw them lift that season's league championship. Smith then won another league title with Arsenal in 1991 as well as a League Cup and FA Cup Double two years later.
