1985 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The 1985 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship was the 55th staging of the All-Ireland Junior Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. Cork entered the championship as the defending champions but lost to Kerry in the opening round of the Munster Championship. The All-Ireland final was played in Tuam on 6 October 1985 between Galway and Warwickshire, in what was the first ever meeting in a final between the two counties. Galway won the match by twenty-five points to claim their first title at the grade since 1965 and a fourth overall. Leinster Junior Football Championship
The Leinster Junior Football Championship was a junior "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The series of games were organised by the Leinster Council. The competition ran from 1905 to 2019. The most successful county was Dublin who have won on twenty occasions. The winners of the Leinster Junior Football Championship each year would then progress to play the other provincial champions for a chance to win the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship. At GAA Congress in 2021, a motion was passed to change the entire structure of the All Ireland Junior Football Championship competition to that of a mostly 'overseas competition' along with just one Irish county, Kilkenny. 1984 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The 1984 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship was the 54th staging of the All-Ireland Junior Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Cork in the Munster final. The All-Ireland final was played on 9 September 1984 at Roger Casement Park in Coventry between Cork and Warwickshire, in what was their third ever meeting in the final and a first in 29 years. Cork won the match by 3–20 to 0–07 to claim their sixth championship title overall and a first tile in 12 years. The Meath County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) () or Meath GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Meath, as well as for Meath county teams. Football County team The first notable Meath team was the Pierce O'Mahony's club from Navan that represented the county in the All-Ireland final of 1895, when the competition used to be played between the champion clubs from each county. Páirc Tailteann () is a GAA stadium in Navan, County Meath, Ireland. It is the home of the Meath Gaelic football and Hurling teams. The ground has had a capacity of between 30,000 and 33,000, but following a safety audit in 2011 the GAA reduced the authorized capacity to 10,000. This was later upped to 17,000. The Louth county football team represents Louth in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Louth GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association.
