Gerald Myers
Gerald Myers (born August 5, 1936) is an American former college basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's basketball team and the Houston Baptist Huskies men's basketball team and athletic director at Texas Tech University. Early years Originally from Borger, Texas, Myers played basketball for Texas Tech from 1956–1959. As a player, he had an 86.9 percent free throw shooting average for the 1957-58 season. He received a bachelor's degree in education from Texas Tech in 1959 and later earned a master's degree in 1965. The Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball team represents Texas Tech University in basketball. Robert Eugene Bass (January 28, 1929 – August 17, 2018) was an American basketball coach and executive who worked in college basketball, the American Basketball Association (ABA), and the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Bass was born in Oklahoma on January 28, 1929. He studied at Tulsa Rogers High School in Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in 1947, where he served as captain of the basketball team until his graduation in 1950. He later did study at University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a master's degree. City Bank Coliseum
Lubbock Municipal Coliseum (formerly City Bank Coliseum) was an 8,344-seat multi-purpose arena in Lubbock, Texas. Although the arena was located on the campus of Texas Tech University, it was owned and operated by the City of Lubbock until 2018. The Coliseum and adjoining Auditorium were demolished in 2019, following the land's transfer of ownership back to the university. The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences, located downtown at the intersection of Marsha Sharp Freeway and Ave L, opened in 2020 to replace the Auditorium.
