1980 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 1980 European Athletics Indoor Championships were held in Sindelfingen, a city in West Germany, on 1 and 2 March 1980. The championships were boycotted by East Germany. The middle-distance running, middle-distance races were hand-timed. The host nation topped the medal table with 12 medals, including 5 golds, followed closely by Poland and the Soviet Union. Wolfgang Kolmsee
Wolfgang Kolmsee (born 25 September 1954) is a retired (West) German triple jumper. He was born in Oberhausen. He finished eighth at the 1975 European Indoor Championships, fourth at the 1976 European Indoor Championships, sixth at the 1976 Summer Olympics, no-marked at the 1977 European Indoor Championships, finished sixth at the 1977 World Cup and eleventh at the 1980 European Indoor Championships. Kolmsee became West German champion in 1976, also winning national silver medals in 1974, 1977, 1981 and 1982. Indoors he became West German champion in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978. Antonio Corgos
Antonio Corgos Cervantes (born 10 March 1960 in Barcelona, Catalonia) is a retired long jumper from Spain. He won two silver medals at the European Athletics Indoor Championships as well as one at the 1982 European Athletics Championships. He was also a silver medallist at the 1983 Mediterranean Games and the 1983 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics. Corgos was an Olympic finalist on three occasions, his best result being fifth at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. His personal best jump was 17.27 metres, achieved in June 1984 in Bucharest Bucharest ( , ; ) is the capital and largest city of Romania.
