PAOK FC (, ), short for "Pan-Thessalonian Sports club, Athletic Club of Constantinople, Constantinopolitans" (), and commonly known as PAOK Thessaloniki, PAOK Salonika or simply PAOK, is a Greek professional Association football, football club based in Thessaloniki, Macedonia (Greece), Macedonia, Greece. PAOK are one of the top domestic clubs, the most widely supported in Northern Greece. Established on 20 April 1926 by Greek refugees who fled to Thessaloniki from Istanbul, Constantinople in the wake of the Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922), they play their home games at Toumba Stadium, a 29,000 seating capacity football ground. The drachma ( ) was the official currency of modern Greece from 1832 until the launch of the euro in 2001. First modern drachma The drachma was reintroduced in May 1832, shortly before the establishment of the Kingdom of Greece. It replaced the ''phoenix (currency), phoenix'' at par. The drachma was subdivided into 100 Greek lepton, lepta. Neto Guerino
Guerino Minervino Neto (born 24 March 1950), commonly known as Neto Guerino, is a Brazilian former football player who played as a striker. Guerino played for Clube Atlético Mineiro and Nacional Futebol Clube in the Campeonato Brasileiro, before moving abroad to play in Greece. He had a very successful career in Greece and specifically Thessaloniki, playing there for almost thirteen years. His biggest success was with PAOK FC, being a key member of the squad that won the 1976 Greek championship, scoring 11 goals in 30 games. Panagiotis Kermanidis
Panagiotis Kermanidis (Greek: Παναγιώτης Κερμανίδης; born 12 July 1950) is a Greek former football player and manager. Biography Kermanidis was born on July 14, 1950, in Zgorzelec, Poland from Greek political refugees and raised in Hungary. He played football in Kispesti Textil and later in MTK Budapest, until September 1973, when he was acquired by PAOK Thessaloniki. At PAOK, Kermanidis won the Greek Cup in 1974 and the championship in 1976. In his 8 years with the club, he scored 60 times in 233 appearances. Later, Kermanidis played for Makedonikos and Naoussa where he ended his career. Konstantinos Orfanos (Greek: Κωνσταντίνος Ορφανός; born 22 August 1956) is a retired Greek footballer. Career He started his career at PAOK in 1975. He was a part of the team that won the Alpha Ethniki championship in 1976. In 1980, Orfanos joined PAOK's rivals Olympiacos winning three more championships in 1981, 1982 and 1983. He played for them until the summer of 1985 when he returned to PAOK. He ended his career in 1989 at Apollon Kalamarias. He played 394 league games. Vassilis Vasilakos
Vasilios Vasilakos (; born 7 September 1960) is a Greek former professional footballer, who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Vasilakos started his football career from Almyros Volos and in the summer of 1979 he was transferred to PAOK. He played with PAOK for 8 seasons, where he won the Championship in 1985 and played as a finalist in 2 Greek Cup finals in 1983 and in 1985. Angelos Anastasiadis
Angelos Anastasiadis (; born 8 March 1953) is a Greek football manager and former international footballer. He previously coached numerous clubs in Greece including PAOK, Panathinaikos, Platanias and PAS Giannina as well as the Greece and Cyprus national teams. Stavros Sarafis (; 17 January 1950 – 13 October 2022) was a Greek international footballer who spent his entire career at PAOK, playing mainly as a midfielder and occasionally as a forward.
