Stadion Evžena Rošického
Stadion Evžena Rošického, also known simply as Strahov, is a multi-purpose stadium in Strahov, Prague in the Czech Republic. It hosted the 1978 European Athletics Championships and for many years this was the venue for main annual international track and field meet of Prague ( Evžen Rošický Memorial and later Josef Odložil Memorial) until Stadion Juliska took the role in 2002. Since then the stadium has been used only for minor domestic athletic competitions and mostly for football matches. It served as the home ground for SK Slavia Prague from August 2000 until May 2008 when their new stadium, the Synot Tip Arena, was opened. It is also occasionally used by other Czech teams, and is the usual venue for the Czech Cup final. The stadium holds 19,032 spectators. Jarmila Kratochvílová
Jarmila Kratochvílová (; born 26 January 1951 in Golčův Jeníkov) is a Czechoslovak former track and field athlete. She won the 400 metres and 800 metres at the 1983 World Championships, setting a world record in the 400 m. In 1983, she set the world record for the 800 metres, which still stands and is currently the longest-standing world record in athletics. Only two athletes, Pamela Jelimo of Kenya (2008), and Caster Semenya of South Africa (2018), have come within a second of Kratochvílová's mark since it was set. Biography In 1983, Kratochvílová broke the 800 m world record with a time of 1:53.28. At the World Championships shortly afterwards, she set a world record of 47.99 seconds to win the 400 m. Kratochvílová's 1983 400-metre world record of 47.99 seconds stood for two years until it was broken by her great rival Marita Koch in 1985. Donna Hartley
Donna Marie Louise Hartley ( Murray, later Wass; 1 May 1955 – 7 June 2013) was a British athlete. She specialised in the 200, 400 and 4x400 relay. In the 4x400 relay she won an Olympic Bronze medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. She also won 2 Commonwealth Gold medals in the 400 and 4x400 relay at Edmonton, Canada Commonwealth Games 1978. Verona Marolin Elder (née Verona Bernard) MBE (born 5 April 1953 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire) is a female British, Commonwealth and European medal winning English 400 metres runner and is now the manager of the British athletics team for people with learning disability.
