1977–78 Paris Saint-Germain FC Season
The 1977–78 season was the 8th season of Paris Saint-Germain FC. PSG played most of their home league matches at the Parc des Princes in Paris, but also one at the Stade Bauer, with an average attendance of 21,754 spectators per match. The club's president was Daniel Hechter until January 1978, when Francis Borelli replaced him. The team's manager was player-coach Jean-Michel Larqué. Mustapha Dahleb was the team captain. PSG finished eleventh in Division 1 and reached the round of 32 of the Coupe de France. Carlos Bianchi was the club's top scorer this season with 39 goals, 37 of them in the league. Philippe Jean (born 27 May 1959) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder and defender. Club career Jean started off his career firstly at US Palaiseau, and then later in the academy of Paris Saint-Germain. He made his first appearance for PSG on 26 November 1977 in a 0–0 draw against Monaco. Jean made his final appearance for the club in a 1–0 loss against Nantes on 27 April 1979. Jean-Marc Pilorget (born 13 April 1958) is a French former professional football player and manager. He held the record of the most appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, with 435 matches, until 2024. Thierry Morin
Thierry Morin (born 12 December 1957) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender. As of June 2025, he works as the general secretary of the Association Paris Saint-Germain. Playing career Morin's first youth club was Stade Saint-Germain, his hometown club at which he stayed from 1966 until the merger with Paris FC to form Paris Saint-Germain in 1970. He would join the PSG Academy that year. His first team debut came on 21 December 1975 in a 3–2 loss to Reims. Éric Renaut (born 11 April 1954) is a French former professional footballer who played as a centre-back and midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Paris Saint-Germain. Pierre Bajoc
Pierre Bajoc (born 27 April 1955) is a French former professional football player and manager. Playing career Bajoc began playing football in his hometown of Le Lamentin in Martinique. He played for Aiglon du Lamentin and L'Éclair de Rivière-Salée in his youth before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 1973, at the age of 18. Ramón Heredia
Ramón Armando Heredia Ruarte (born 26 February 1951 in Córdoba) is an Argentine former football defender who played for the Argentina national team. Heredia started his playing career in 1969 with San Lorenzo in Argentina. He was part of the squad that won both league titles in 1972. He joined Atlético Madrid in 1973 and played in the 1974 European Cup Final. Jean-Pierre Adams (10 March 1948 – 6 September 2021) was a French professional footballer who played as a centre-back. He was capped 22 times for France in the 1970s, and at club level, he played Division 1 football for Nîmes, Nice and Paris Saint-Germain.
