The 1976 Chicago Bears season was their 57th regular season completed in the National Football League. The team finished with a 7–7 record, in their second season under Jack Pardee. The .500 record and second-place finish were the team's best since 1968. This was also the first season for the Chicago Honey Bears, the team's official cheerleading squad. NFC Central
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings, with the latter three based within most definitions of the Upper Midwest. Brian Baschnagel
Brian Dale Baschnagel (born January 8, 1954) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. College Baschnagel was a four-year starting wide receiver at Ohio State where his teams had a 40-5-1 record, won four Big Ten titles, and had four Rose Bowl appearances. He led the Buckeyes in receiving yards in 1974 (362) and 1975 (244). He was a co-captain of the 1975 team. He was part of the famed Ohio State teams that included Pete Johnson, Cornelius Greene, and John Hicks who helped Archie Griffin to win two Heisman Trophy awards. He was a two-time Academic All-American and Academic All-Big Ten selection. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. Danny Marcellus Jiggetts (born March 10, 1954) is an American former football offensive lineman. He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 1976 NFL draft. Early life Jiggetts was born in Brooklyn, but grew up on Long Island when his parents moved there soon after he was born. Excelling in both academics and athletics at Westhampton Beach High School, Jiggetts ranked in the top 10% of his class academically, earning a Rotary scholarship for college and was elected class president each of his four years of high school as well as earning eleven varsity letters in three different sports. He was extremely popular, noted a high school friend from Quogue, former United States Congressman Michael P. Forbes, who graduated a year earlier in 1971.
