1975–76 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 1975–76 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team represented University of Kentucky. The head coach was Joe B. Hall. The team was a member of the Southeast Conference and played their home games at Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky finished with an overall record of 20–10 (11–7 SEC). The Wildcats were invited to the 1976 National Invitation Tournament and won in the final 71–67 over the Charlotte 49ers. Dick Parsons (coach)
James R. "Dick" Parsons is a former American college baseball and college basketball coach. He was the coach of the Kentucky Wildcats baseball team from 1970 to 1972 and was also an assistant coach for the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team from 1970 to 1980 under Joe B. Hall. He attended the University of Kentucky from 1957 to 1961 where he played both baseball and basketball. Lynn Nance
Lynn Sanford Nance (born September 3, 1942) is an American former college basketball coach. He also served as head coach at Iowa State, Central Missouri State, Saint Mary's, Washington, and Southwest Baptist. Early life and education Nance was born in Granby, Missouri, where he graduated from Granby High School. At Southwest Baptist Junior College (now University), Nance was a junior college All-American player before transferring to the University of Washington, where he became an honorable mention all-American. Nance went on to be selected in the fourth round of the 1965 NBA draft by the St. Louis Hawks. Unfortunately, a knee injury ended his professional career before he ever played a game for St. Louis. Memorial Coliseum, coloquailly known as "The House That Rupp Built" and "Historic Memorial Coliseum", is a 6,250-seat multi-purpose arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) in NCAA Division I basketball. Charlotte is a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American), which they joined in 2023 after 10 seasons in Conference USA. Charlotte, which had been a charter C-USA member from 1995, returned to that conference in 2013 after leaving in 2005 to join the Atlantic 10 Conference. 1976 NBA Draft
The 1976 NBA draft was the 30th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on June 8, 1976, before the 1976–77 season. In this draft, 18 NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. The first two picks in the draft belonged to the teams that finished last in each conference, with the order determined by a coin flip. The Atlanta Hawks won the coin flip and were awarded the first overall pick, while the Chicago Bulls were awarded the second pick.
