1964–65 Women's European Cup (handball)
The 1964–65 EHF Women's Champions League, Women's Handball European Champions Cup was the fifth edition of the international competition for European women's team handball, handball national champion clubs, taking place from late 1964 to 16 April 1965. The number of contestants decreased from thirteen to ten due to the absences of Austria, Poland and Romania, so the qualifying stage was reduced from five ties to just two. Unlike the two previous editions, the final was carried out as a two-legged tie. HG Copenhague became the first team from the Western Bloc to win the competition in the third appearance in a row of the Denmark, Danish representative in the final, while Budapesti Spartacus SC (women's handball), Budapesti Spartacus was the first Hungary, Hungarian team to reach it. The absence of Romania meant there was no 1963–64 European Cup (women's handball), defending champion this year.

HG Copenhague
Handelsstandens Gymnastikforening (HG) was a Danish sports association based in Copenhagen. It governed many sports, but is most famous for its handball teams that one several Danish championships in both the men's league and the women's league. The club was founded on April 28 1880 as a Gymnastics association for traders and clerks. In 1904 Swimming also became a part of the club, and in 1927 the handball team was created. Between 1939 and 1970, the club won the Danish men's league 13 times, including five in a row from 1966 to 1971. and between 1950 and 1977 it won the Danish Women's League 12 times. KSK Luch Moscow
KSK Luch Moscow is a Russian women's handball club from Moscow. Founded in 1959 as Trud Moscow, it took its current name in 1966. The team enjoyed its golden era in the 1960s, winning the third edition of the European Cup and five of the seven first editions of the Soviet Championship. Luch gradually declined in subsequent years, making it into the championship's top three for the last time in 1975. Following the break-up of the Soviet Union Luch has played in the Russian Super League. The team has appeared occasionally in European competitions since, with the 1998 Cup Winners' Cup's quarter-finals and the 2001 Challenge Cup's semifinals as its best results. The EHF Women's Champions League is the competition for the top women's handball clubs in Europe, organised annually by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the most prestigious tournament for clubs, with the champions of Europe's top national leagues participating. Tournament structure Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 27 nations are allowed to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federations are allowed to request extra places or upgrades from the EHF European League. The EHF Champions League is divided into five stages. RK Lokomotiva Zagreb
Rukometni Klub Lokomotiva Zagreb () is a Croatian professional women's handball club from Zagreb. Lokomotiva was the most successful team in the Yugoslav Championship's early stages, winning eight championships between 1956 and 1970. In 1975, the team reached the final of the European Cup after winning its ninth championship. However, the following fifteen years were unsuccessful, with Radnički Belgrade dominating the championship. The team resurfaced in 1991, winning both the final edition of the Yugoslav Championship and the EHF Cup, its first international trophy, beating Bayer Leverkusen in the final. Following the breakup of Yugoslavia, Lokomotiva, renamed Kraš Zagreb, won the first edition of the new Croatian League, but the team soon fell second to Podravka Koprivnica. ČKD Prague
ČKD (Českomoravská Kolben-Daněk) () was one of the largest engineering companies in the former Czechoslovakia and today's Czech Republic. It is famous for the Tatra T3, a tramcar that sold 13,991 units worldwide.
