The 1962–63 season was Real Madrid Club de Fútbol's 60th season in existence and the club's 31st consecutive season in the top flight of Spanish football. Summary Owing to a disappointing performance of Spain in the 1962 FIFA World Cup, the Spanish Federation imposed a ban on the transfers of foreign players, with the measure lasting 11 years until 1973 with oriundo players exemptions. The term oriundo (; Italian plural ''oriundi'') is an Italian and Portuguese noun describing an immigrant in a country, whose ancestry is from that same country. It comes from the Latin verb ''oriri'' (''orior''), "be born", and is etymologically related to ''Orient''. In Spanish oriundo means ''native'' or ''inhabitant'', but this term was also used in Spain to refer to a series of athletes, born in Latin America, whose ancestors were Spanish emigrants. In Italian culture, an ''oriundo'' is someone who is living in a country other than the one of his origins (i.e. being of Italian descent and residing outside of Italy). In sports (especially in North America), a three-peat is winning three consecutive championships or tournaments. The term, a portmanteau of the words ''three'' and ''repeat'', originated with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, during their unsuccessful campaign for a third consecutive championship during the 1988–89 season, having won the previous two NBA finals. Evaristo de Macedo Filho, (born 22 June 1933), known simply as Evaristo, is a Brazilian former footballer and coach. Club career Madureira (1950–1952) Raised in the north of Rio de Janeiro, Evaristo, like many children, played football simply for fun on the streets, and watched Flamengo play on weekends with his uncle. In 1950, aged 17, Evaristo joined a friend who was attending a trial at Madureira and was asked to come back the following day. Signed as an amateur, he scored 18 goals in 35 games, including one against Fluminense at the Maracanã Stadium. Yanko Daucik
Yanko Daucik Ciboch (22 March 1941 – 13 May 2017) was a Czechoslovak professional footballer during the 1960s and 1970s. Yanko played for Real Betis, Real Madrid, the Toronto Falcons and RCD Español. Daucik is the son of Ferdinand Daučík, the veteran La Liga manager who moved with his family to Spain in 1950. Daucik made his La Liga debut for Real Betis on 11 September 1960 in a game against RCD Mallorca. His father was the Betis manager at the time. Yanko scored 14 goals in 38 La Liga appearances for Betis, attracting the interest of Real Madrid who signed him in 1962. However he faced stiff competition from the likes of Alfredo Di Stéfano, Francisco Gento, Ferenc Puskás and Amancio Amaro and during two seasons at Real he only played 10 La Liga games and scored just 3 goals. Lucien Muller
Lucien Muller-Schmidt (born 3 September 1934) is a French former football player and manager who played as a midfielder. He made no appearances in the France national team at the FIFA World Cup 1966. Career Born in Bischwiller, Muller started out in Alsace, his native region, and then made a name for himself with the Stade de Reims, that he was twice crowned French champion. He then moved to Real Madrid, where he appeared in the European Cup final in 1964; they won league three times. He would move to FC Barcelona. Although he was touted as the successor to Raymond Kopa, his performances in the French kit never matched his club performances. He was nevertheless part of the French team that participated in the 1966 FIFA World Cup. He returned to Reims where he ended his career. Amancio Amaro Varela (16 October 1939 – 21 February 2023), commonly known simply as Amancio, was a Spanish football player. Nicknamed ''El Brujo'' (The Wizard) he played outside right for Deportivo de La Coruña, Real Madrid, and the Spain national team.
