Jelena Genčić
Jelena Genčić ( sr-cyr, Јелена Генчић, ; 9 October 1936 – 1 June 2013) was a Serbian tennis and handball player and coach. In the 1970s she became a junior tennis coach and was later credited for playing a major role in the early development of numerous future top class professional players and Grand Slam champions. Among the players she discovered and coached are Monica Seles, Novak Djokovic, Goran Ivanišević, Mima Jaušovec, Iva Majoli, and Tatjana Ječmenica. Genčić-coached players went on to collect 36 Grand Slam single titles: Djokovic 24, Seles 9, Ivanišević 1, Jaušovec 1, and Majoli 1. Ilse Buding
Ilse Renate Buding (22 November 1939 – 5 May 2023) was a Romanian-born German tennis player who was active from the mid-1950s until 1970. Career Buding began playing tennis at age 11 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the family had moved to after World War II. In May 1954 she became the Argentinian junior singles champion. Buding became the French Championships girls' singles champion in 1957 after a victory in the final against Pierrette Seghers. At the Wimbledon Championships Buding made it to the second round of the singles event in 1957, 1959, and 1961. In the doubles event she reached the quarterfinal in 1958 and 1959. In 1956 she reached the final of the All England Plate, a Wimbledon competition for players who were defeated in the first or second rounds of the singles competition, which she lost in two sets to Thelma Coyne. Mary Bryan (badminton)
Mary Bryan (1936 – 26 October 2017) was an Irish badminton player. During her career, she was deemed to be one of the top 5 badminton players in the world. Life Mary Bryan was born Mary O'Sullivan in Tralee, County Kerry in 1936. She attended the Dominican school, Sion Hill, before entering University College Dublin (UCD) to study architecture. After graduation, she worked for Guinness as an architect in London and Dublin. She married Eddie Bryan, and the family moved to Spain in 1974, living there until 1981. In 1995, she was received an MA in Urban and Building conservation from UCD. She was an active member of the Irish Georgian Society, serving as the Executive Secretary and Conservation Officer. She was appointed to An Bord Pleanála from 2005 to 2010, and sat on the Committee of Management of the Irish Georgian Foundation, serving as chair. Bryan died on 26 October 2017.
