The 1954 Regional Championship was the 13th season of the Liga IV, Regional Championship, 4th as the third tier of Romanian football league system, Romanian football. The champions of each regional championships play against each other in the playoffs to earn promotion to Divizia B. Liga IV
Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia D into Liga IV before the start of play for the 2006–07 season. Current format Liga IV has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 4 parallel divisions with the teams finishing first meeting in a play-off to decide the champion. The number of teams differ from one county association to another. The Mureș County association has the fewest teams, 8, which play in a Scottish system, playing 4 times against one another. Gloria CFR Galați
Gloria CFR Galați was a football club based in Galaţi, Galați County, Romania. It was founded in 1932 and dissolved in 1970. History The club was founded in 1932 January 1, at the initiative of the railroad workers from Galați, after the merger of ''Șoimii Gloria'' (founded in 1927) with ''CFR''. The initial colours of the jersey's were yellow-blue. The club's initial name was ''Asociația Sportivă și Culturală'' (Cultural and Sports Association). Until 1936 the team plays in the districtual championship after which it promotes to the Divizia C. One year later it qualifies to the Divizia B and after two more seasons, Gloria promotes to the Divizia A. At this level, it manages to play for two seasons, until 1941. In 1942, because of WW II, the championship is interrupted, with the club on the 2nd position of the table. Liga IV Suceava
Liga IV Suceava (known as Liga Inter Conti for sponsorship reasons) is the county football division of Liga IV for clubs based in Suceava County, România. The competition is ranked as the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system and it is competed between 14 teams, the winner may or may not be promoted to Liga III, depending on the result of a promotion play-off that is disputed against a winner of the neighboring counties series. The number of relegated team from the Liga IV – Suceava is variable and depends on the number of teams relegated from the Liga III. Foresta Fălticeni
Foresta Fălticeni (also known as ''Foresta Suceava'') was a Romanian professional football club from Fălticeni, Suceava County, Romania, founded in 1954 as ''Avântul Fălticeni'' and subsequently dissolved in 2003. History The club was founded in 1954 in Fălticeni under the name of ''Avântul Fălticeni''. Foresta was the first team representing Divizia C that played in a Romanian Cup final which was lost with 0–6 against Steaua București at the end of the 1966–67 season. In 1997, the club was moved to Suceava after it won the promotion to the Divizia A for the first time in history. The main reason for the move was the inadequate state of Foresta's stadium in Fălticeni, which was both small and had a cracked stand. Ploiești
Ploiești ( , , ), formerly spelled Ploești, is a city and county seat in Prahova County, Romania. Part of the historical region of Muntenia, it is located north of Bucharest. The area of Ploiești is around , and it borders the Blejoi commune in the north, Bărcănești and Brazi communes in the south, Târgșoru Vechi commune in the west, and Bucov and Berceni communes in the east. According to the 2011 Romanian census, there were 201,226 people living within the city limits, making it the ninth most populous in the country. 1955 Divizia B
The 1955 Divizia B was the 16th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to three series, one of them having 14 teams and two of them only 13. At the end of the season the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A, the last four places from the first and third series and the last five places from the second series relegated to Divizia C. This was the sixth season played in the spring-autumn system, a system imposed by the new leadership of the country which were in close ties with the Soviet Union. Suceava Region
Suceava Region ( ro, Regiunea Suceava) was an administrative-territorial division located in the northeastern part of the Romanian People's Republic, established in 1950, when the counties were abolished (by law no. 5 from 6 September 1950). It existed until 1968, when the regions were abolished. History Initially, the residence of the region was in Câmpulung Moldovenesc. In 1952, the administrative center moved to Suceava. During that period, the territory of the region was similar to that of the present-day Suceava County. Between 1956 and 1968, the region included a large part of the present Botoșani County, after the Botoșani Region was abolished and its districts came first under the jurisdiction of the Iași Region (1952), and then under the jurisdiction of the Suceava Region (1956). Stalin Region
Regiunea Stalin (Stalin Region) was one of the administrative divisions of the People's Republic of Romania. It was established in 1950, in the Soviet style of territorial organization, and was named after Joseph Stalin. Its name was changed to Brașov Region in 1960, and it was disestablished in 1968. History In 1950, the capital of the region was Orașul Stalin (''Stalin City'', now Brașov) and its territory comprised an area similar to what are nowadays the eastern part of Brașov County, together with Covasna County and part of Harghita County. Initially, the Stalin Region comprised 6 raions: Ciuc, Odorhei, Racoș, Sfântu Gheorghe, Stalin, and Târgu Secuiesc.
