1945–46 Italian Football Championship
The 1945–46 Italian Football Championship officially known as 1945–46 Divisione Nazionale, was the forty-fourth edition of the Italian Football Championship. It was the twenty-first season from which the Italian Football Champions adorned their team jerseys in the subsequent season with a Scudetto. 1945-46 was the first Italian Football Championship held after the ravages of World War II. Hence the authorities resurrected a one season return to the Divisione Nazionale two region set up, instead of the nationwide Serie A brand introduced in 1929–30 Serie A, 1929. Torino FC were champions for the third time in their history. This was their third scudetto since the scudetto started being awarded in 1923–24 Prima Divisione, 1924 and their second 'non-Serie A' style win. Divisione Nazionale ''(National Division)'' was the name of the first level of the Italian Football Championship from 1926 to 1929. History The competition was the evolution of former Prima Divisione ''(First Division)'' which had two main problems: it was divided between the northern and the southern part of the country, and was formally faithful to the amatorial directories of FIFA. The Fascism, fascist regime would not accept a championship based on local groups, so in 1926 it took the direct control of FIGC with Leandro Arpinati as president, who merged two Rome, Roman clubs and newborn S.S.C. Bologna Football Club 1909, commonly referred to as Bologna (), is an Italian professional football club based in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna that plays in Serie A, the top flight of Italian football. Lega Nazionale Alta Italia
The Lega Alta Italia (Italian for ''High Italy League'') was the ruling body of the major football championships during the US military occupation of Northern Italy. History The Higher Directory, the football committee during the fascist age, was disbanded at the arrival of the US Army in 1945. Railways and routes disruptions, together with the Allied occupation the industrialized North, had divided Italy in two parts. Sport consequently restarted under a special transitional season. Clubs from Northern Italy restored a free football league after 19 years of fascist rule. It organized the local section of the Serie A, whose best teams would join a final national phase, while the Serie B clubs were united with the best Serie C teams. The Direttorio Divisioni Superiori ( Italian for ''Directory of Higher Divisions'') was the ruling body of the major Italian football championships during the fascist era. v ''Treccani'' (Italian)/ref> History The Directory was established through the CONI by the fascists. Italy was turning into a dictatorship, and the government imposed the new system to the sport too.
