Statistics of Albanian National Championship in the 1942 season. It was the first and only Nationwide Championship ever played, including the participation of Albanian and Kosovan teams at an official football event. This event is still not officially recognized from AFA, but in December 2012 the Albanian sports media have reported that this championship, along with the other two championships of World War II is expected to be recognized soon. Overview 1942 Albanian National Championship was the 10th season of Albania's annual main competition. It started on 14 June 1942, and ended on 29 June 1942. Ten teams were separated in one group of 4 teams and two groups of 3 teams, playing single round-robin system. Kategoria Superiore
The Kategoria Superiore, officially known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Kategoria e Parë. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The competition was founded in 1930 as the Albanian National Championship during the reign of King Zog, shortly after the creation of the Albanian Football Association. Since 1930, 45 clubs have competed in recognised competitions, while only nine clubs have won the title: Tirana (26), Dinamo Tirana (18), Partizani (16), Vllaznia (9), Skënderbeu (8), Elbasani (2), Teuta (2), Flamurtari (1), and Kukësi (1). Overview 1940 Albanian National Championship was the 9th season of Albania's annual main competition. It started on 3 March 1940, and ended on 26 May 1940. Eight teams were separated in two groups of 4 teams each, playing double round-robin system and only the first team of each group would go into the finals. Group A teams were: Tirana, Shkodra, Elbasani and Durrësi. Group B teams were: Gjirokastra, Berati, Korça and Vlora. Shkodra won the championship.
