1941 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1941 NAIA basketball tournament was held in March at Municipal Auditorium (Kansas City), Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. The 5th annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA basketball tournament featured 32 teams playing in a single-elimination format. The third time was the charm for the San Diego State Aztecs men's basketball, San Diego State Aztecs. After losing the previous two years to Southwestern College and Tarkio College, the Aztecs finally won beating Murray State Racers men's basketball, Murray State, 36–34. NAIA Men's Basketball Championship
The NAIA men's basketball national championship has been held annually by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics since 1937 NAIA basketball tournament, 1937 to determine the national champion of men's college basketball among its members in the United States and Canada. The tournament was established by James Naismith to crown a national champion for smaller colleges and universities and has been held every year since, with the exceptions of 1944 NAIA basketball tournament, 1944 (due to World War II) and 2020 (due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Since 2022, the tournament has featured 64 teams, with teams beginning play at one of sixteen regional sites with the winners of those regionals playing at the final venue. The Delta State Statesmen and Lady Statesmen are the athletic teams that represent Delta State University, located in Cleveland, Mississippi, in intercollegiate sports at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats men's basketball team represents Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, in the NCAA Division II men's basketball competition. Simpson College is a private Methodist college in Indianola, Iowa. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and enrolled 1,151 students in fall 2022. History Indianola Male and Female Seminary was opened on September 24, 1860, and the name was changed to the Des Moines Conference Seminary in September 1865. The Evansville Purple Aces are the intercollegiate sports teams and players of the University of Evansville, located in Evansville, Indiana. The Aces athletic program is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and competes at the NCAA's Division I level.
