1931–32 Primera Fuerza Season
The 1931–32 season was the 10th edition of the amateur league renamed as Liga Mayor (). After the cancellation of the 1930-31 season, the FMF changed the name of the league to Liga Mayor. It had 8 participating clubs and all matches were played in Mexico City. Primera Fuerza
Campeonato de Primera Fuerza (), later known as Liga Mayor (), was an amateur association football league in Mexico. It was founded and organized by the Federación Mexicana de Football Asociación (), which was the first governing body of Mexican football, after the merger of the ''Liga Mexicana'' and ''Liga Nacional''. Asturias FC won the inaugural season and CD Marte were the last champions. It had the total participation of 18 teams, of which only two teams played their matches outside of Mexico City. The league was held from 1922 to 1943, when the first true national and professional league was started. Juan Carreño
Juan Carreño Lara (14 August 1907 – 16 December 1940) was a Mexican footballer, and a participant of the 1930 FIFA World Cup. His nickname was 'Trompo' or 'Trompito' ('spinning top' in English). He was the first Mexican to score in the FIFA World Cup. During this tournament he was connected with Atlante F.C. He also scored Mexico's first goal in Olympic Games in Amsterdam 1928. Julio Lores Colán (born 15 September 1908 - death 15 July 1947) was a Peruvian- Mexican professional football forward who played for Peru in the 1930 FIFA World Cup and for Mexico. The 1932–33 season was the 11th edition of the amateur league called Liga Mayor. It had 10 participating clubs and were divided into two groups, the best four teams of 1931-32 season were seeded in the group A and the last four teams in the group B. Veracruz Sporting Club is a Mexican football club based in the city of Veracruz, that competes in the Liga TDP. The club participated in the amateur era of the Liga Mayor from 1931 to 1933, and also played in the Liga Amateur de Veracruz. History The club was founded in 1908 by the native Spaniards living in Veracruz in the early 1900s. The first owners were the brothers Ángel and Mariano Rivera. The club played in the old Liga amateur de Veracruz from 1908 when in 1931 they were invited to play in the Liga Mayor after Club México and Real Club España left some spots open due to economical problems. Club Leonés
Club Leonés de Obras Públicas, simply known as Club Leonés, was a Mexican football club based in Mexico City, that played in the amateur era of the Liga Mayor from 1931 to 1933. 1931–32 During this season, as Basque teams such as Aurrerá and Real Club España, the league decided to invite two teams in order to complete the eight teams for the season. The teams that were invited were Veracruz Sporting and Club Leones. Since these teams were new they did not fare well in the season. Club Leones attempted to play veteran players from other teams such as Nieves Hernández, Miguel "Venada" Alatorre y Lage, combined with a few rookies who later became professionals such as "Chueco" Arteaga.
