Swedish Football Champions
Swedish football champions () is a title held by the winners of the highest Sweden, Swedish Association football, football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 24 Swedish championships, the most recent of which was won in 2024 Allsvenskan, 2024. The title has been contested since 1896 in various competition formats. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was created in 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). After the creation of the SvFF, the title continued to be held by the winners of Svenska Mästerskapet until 1925, even though a Swedish first national league, Svenska Serien, started in 1910. Varbergs GIF
Varbergs GIF FK is a Swedish football club located in Varberg. Background Varbergs Gymnastik- och Idrottsförening was formed on 28 May 1905 and shortly afterwards included football in their programme. In the same year the club became founder members of the Hallands Idrottsförbund (Halland Sports Federation) at the invitation of IF Kamraterna, Halmstad. In the 1940s, the club also played bandy. Varbergs GIF FF were declared bankrupt in December 2007 when their tax liabilities could not be met. As a consequence the club dropped out of Division 4 Halland and reformed in the bottom tier in Division 6 Halland Norra. Varbergs GIF FK currently plays in Division 2 Västra Götaland which is the fourth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Påskbergsvallen in Varberg. IK Sleipner
Idrottsklubben Sleipner is a sports club in Norrköping, Sweden; the main sports are football and ten-pin bowling. It was founded in 1903, and named after the deity Odin's horse Sleipnir from Norse mythology. Currently, the club's senior men's team plays football in Division 2. They are mostly known for winning Allsvenskan in 1938, but have since been overshadowed by local rivals IFK Norrköping both locally and nationally. The rivalry in beginning 1900 up until 1950 was often fierce as IK Sleipner was the workingclass team whilst IFK Norrköping came from the academical class. Lunds BK is a football club from Lund, Sweden founded in 1919. The club currently plays in Division 1 Södra. Despite their relative success Lunds BK has never competed in the Allsvenskan or Superettan, but has played nine seasons in the second highest level. The club is well known for their youth football programme which has produced numerous players such as Martin Dahlin and Roger Ljung who have progressed to major clubs. History The team was first formed in 1919 when Lund GIF's youth players rebelled against their coach because they were not getting any playing time. The entire youth squad along with some players from IFK Lund were without club affiliation. Two youth players, Gustav 'Gast' Persson and Bertil Larsson requested Berndt Paulsson to form the new club. Jonsereds IF is a Swedish football club located in Jonsered, about east of Gothenburg (Göteborg). The club was founded on 2 May 1923 following the merger of Jonsereds GoIF and Bokedalens IF. Jonsereds IF currently plays in Division 3 Norra Götaland which is the fourth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Jonsereds IP. Background Since their foundation in 1921 Jonsereds IF has participated mainly in the middle divisions of the Swedish football league system. In season of 1923–24, Jonserads were moved to Division 2, Västsvenska Serien. In their first year in the new division, Jonserads finished second behind IFK Uddevalla. Sundbybergs IK is a Swedish football club located in Sundbyberg. Background Sundbybergs IK, (abbreviated as SIK), is a sports club based in Sundbyberg. The club currently has thirteen sections and around 3000 members catering for the sports of football, athletics, bandy, bowling, gymnastics, floorball, handball, orienteering, swimming, skiing (cross country and slalom), table tennis and general fitness.
