1913–14 In Belgian Football
The 1913–14 season was the 19th season of competitive football in Belgium. Overview R. Daring Club Molenbeek, Daring Club de Bruxelles won the Belgian First Division, Division I. A test match was organised between newcomer K.A.A. Gent, A.A. La Gantoise and Standard Liège, Standard Club Liégois as both teams ended the season with 13 points at the 10th place. Standard lost the match and was relegated to the Belgian Second Division, Promotion. The other team to be relegated was R. Léopold Uccle Forestoise, Léopold Club de Bruxelles. After that season, football was stopped due to World War I. The competitions resumed in 1919. Association football is the most popular sport in Belgium, which has been played since the end of the 19th century. The national association was founded in 1895 with the intention of bringing some order and organization to the sport. The first match of the Belgium national team was played on 1 May 1904, a 3–3 draw against France. Belgian Cup
The Belgian Cup (; ; ) is the main knockout football competition in Belgium, run by the Royal Belgian FA. The competition started in 1908 with provincial selections as the "Belgian Provinces Cup". Starting from 1912 only actual clubs were allowed to partake. As of 1964, the Belgian Cup has been organised annually. Since the 2015–16 edition, the Belgian Cup is called the Croky Cup, for sponsorship purposes. The final traditionally takes place at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels. The most successful cup club is Club Brugge with 12 Belgian Cups in their possession. The current champions are Club Brugge, having beaten rivals Anderlecht 2–1 in the 2025 final. Daring Club De Bruxelles
Royal Daring Club Molenbeek was a football (soccer), football team from the city of Brussels, Belgium until . It was created in as Daring Club de Bruxelles and was the second club to register to the Belgian Football Association (it thus received the Football in Belgium#Matricule numbers, matricule number 2), but it was admitted to the Belgian Pro League, league only in 1903. History Daring Club de Bruxelles were formed in 1895 and after absorbing other local clubs in 1920 they became Royal Daring Club Molenbeek. It had to wait until 1936 to come back at the top and win its fourth championship, and the fifth came a year later. In 1938, it finished 2nd.
