Swedish football champions () is a title held by the winners of the highest Sweden, Swedish Association football, football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 24 Swedish championships, the most recent of which was won in 2024 Allsvenskan, 2024. The title has been contested since 1896 in various competition formats. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was created in 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). After the creation of the SvFF, the title continued to be held by the winners of Svenska Mästerskapet until 1925, even though a Swedish first national league, Svenska Serien, started in 1910. Västmanland-Nerikes BK was a Swedish association football, football club created in 1910 for the sole purpose of playing in the newly started Svenska Serien. The team was made up of the best players from Örebro BK, IFK Köping and IFK Västerås, who were selected after two test matches played before the league started. The club played its matches at Örebro IP in Örebro. The team finished seventh in their first season, and the club was then dissolved. The clubs that provided players for Västmanland-Nerikes BK continued to play in other competitions during the season, and Västmanland-Nerike never played in any other competition than the 1910 Svenska Serien, first season of Svenska Serien. The chairman of the club was Charles Löfgren, and Emanuel Grahn was manager during the only season in existence. Göteborgs FF is a Swedish football club located in Gothenburg. Background Göteborgs Fotbollförening was founded on 20 August 1897 and is located in Gothenburg. The club is two times runners-up in Svenska Mästerskapet (first in 1899 and then in 1903) which decided the Swedish Champions in early Swedish football. The club was considered a feeder club of Örgryte IS, and played their home matches at Walhalla IP which was owned by Örgryte. The club participated in the two first seasons of Svenska Serien, finishing fifth in 1910, and being excluded after the season, but then being readmitted the next season since two clubs withdrew after only one game. They finished sixth that season, but where excluded once again to never return to a national league again, even though they played in Svenska Mästerskapet after that. Idrottsföreningen Elfsborg, more commonly known as IF Elfsborg or simply Elfsborg (), is a professional association football, football club based in Borås, Sweden, and is affiliated to the Västergötlands Fotbollförbund.
