1908–09 Dundee F.C. Season
The 1908–09 season was the sixteenth season in which Dundee competed at a Scottish national level, playing in Division One, where they would finish in 2nd place. In a very tight race which would go down to the final day, Dundee were pipped to the title by Celtic by just a single point. Dundee would also compete in the Scottish Cup, where they would lose to Rangers in the second round. Striker John "Sailor" Hunter would finish the season as Scotland's top scorer with 29 goals in the league, and 32 in all major competitions. Jim Bellamy
James Francis Bellamy (11 September 1881 – 30 March 1969) was an English football player and manager who played as right half or outside right for a number of clubs in the Football League, including Woolwich Arsenal, Burnley and Fulham. He also played in Scotland, winning the Scottish Cup with Dundee in 1910. Bellamy went on to coach in various European countries, such as Germany, Italy with Brescia Calcio, and Spain with FC Barcelona. Early life Bellamy was born in Bethnal Green, Middlesex, on 11 September 1881. Playing career Bellamy began his career in non-League football with Barking, Grays United and Reading. He then joined Woolwich Arsenal in May 1903, making his first team debut in 1905. Altogether he made a sum of twenty nine league appearances for the Gunners, scoring four times in all. Douglas Park
Douglas Park was a football stadium in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, the home ground of Hamilton Academical from 1888 to 1994. The stadium holds the record for Hamilton Academical's largest ever attendance, 28,690 people against Hearts in 1937. Douglas Park also played host to Clyde between 1991 and 1994, as that club awaited the building of their new ground in Cumbernauld, Broadwood Stadium. Hamilton ceased playing first team matches at Douglas Park at the end of the 1993–94 season. The club continued to use the stadium for reserve team matches until January 1995, as the sale of the ground was not completed until December 1994. Douglas Park was then redeveloped as a Sainsbury's supermarket. Turnstiles were sold to Falkirk and part of the main stand was sold to Auchinleck Talbot for £30,000. Ibrox Stadium
Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium on the south side of the River Clyde in the Ibrox area of Glasgow, Scotland. The home of Scottish Premiership team Rangers, Ibrox is the third-largest football stadium in Scotland, with an all-seated capacity of 51,700. The stadium was designed by renowned football stadium architect Archibald Leitch, with renovations to the stadium between 1978 and 1981, as well as 1990 and 1991, being designed by The Miller Partnership and Gareth Hutchison respectively. Sandy MacFarlane
Alexander MacFarlane (1878 – 22 December 1945) was a Scottish professional football player and manager. As a player, he won the Scottish Cup with Dundee in 1910. As a manager, he won the Third Division South with Charlton Athletic in 1929. Playing career MacFarlane first played in Scotland for Airdrieonians before moving south to join Woolwich Arsenal in 1896. He only made seven appearances for Arsenal, his debut coming against Grimsby Town on 28 November 1896, and returned to Airdrie the following year. His second move south of the border was more successful, joining Newcastle and becoming their first-choice inside-left. In three seasons in the north-east, MacFarlane made eighty-four First Division appearances, scoring seventeen goals in three consecutive top six finishes, as well as two FA Cup appearances.
