1903–04 In English Football
The 1903–04 season was the 33rd season of competitive football in England. For the first time ever, a London (and Southern) team, Woolwich Arsenal, were promoted to the First Division and made the league's reach nationwide. They joined champions Preston North End in the top flight, after ''the Lilywhites'' beat arch-rivals Blackpool in the final game of the season to clinch the championship. 1903–04 Football League
The 1903– 04 season was the 16th season of The Football League. Final league tables Beginning in the 1894–95 season, clubs finishing level on points were separated according to goal average (goals scored divided by goals conceded). In case one or more teams had the same goal difference, this system favoured those teams who had scored fewer goals. The goal average system was eventually scrapped beginning with the 1976–77 season. During the first six seasons of the league, (up to the 1893–94 season), re-election process concerned the clubs which finished in the bottom four of the league. From the 1894–95 season and until the 1920–21 season the re-election process was required of the clubs which finished in the bottom three of the league. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was the top division of the Football League in England from 1888 until the end of the 1991–92 season, when its teams broke away to form the Premier League. From 1992 to 2004, the name First Division was given to what had previously been called the Second Division. After the 2003–04 season, the division was renamed the Football League Championship (now EFL Championship, with the division below it called EFL League One). The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. Doncaster Rovers Football Club is a professional association football club based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. The team currently competes in EFL League One, the third level of the English football league system after winning the 2024–25 EFL League Two title. The club play their home games at the Eco-Power Stadium, having moved from Belle Vue (Doncaster), Belle Vue in 2007. Their home strip consists of red and white hoops, which has been the main design of the club's home shirt since 2001 through different variations.
