12th Army (People's Republic Of China)
The 71st Group Army () is a Chinese People's Liberation Army Ground Force group army subordinated to the Eastern Theater Command. It was called the 12th Group Army before 2017. History The origin of the 12th Army lies in the surrender of the 74th Division of the Chinese Nationalist National Revolutionary Army, as well as with the sixth column of the Second Field Army. On 9 February 1949, the 34th, 35th and the 36th Divisions were incorporated into the Twelfth Army. On 29 November 1949, Chongqing was captured and later the Battle of Chengdu was fought. Group armies () or army groups or combined corps, are corps-level formation (military), military formations of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force of China. Despite what the name suggests, current Group Armies are not Field army, army-level formations, but corps-sized formations commanding 12 to 14 brigades, roughly equivalent to List_of_corps_of_the_United_States#Active_corps, United States Army Corps. Anhui
Anhui is an inland Provinces of China, province located in East China. Its provincial capital and largest city is Hefei. Hefei is the Capital city, capital of Anhui, China. A prefecture-level city, it is the political, economic, and cultural center of Anhui. Its population was 9,369,881 as of the 2020 census. Battle On Shangganling Mountain (film)
''Shangganling'' () is a 1956 Chinese war film, also translated as ''Battle of Shangganling'' and ''Battle on Shangganling Mountain''. It depicts the Battle of Triangle Hill (Shangganling in Chinese) during the Korean War, an especially bloody battle that resulted in eventual Chinese victory. The film follows a group of Chinese People's Volunteer Army soldiers who are holding Triangle Hill for several days against the U.S. Army and the Republic of Korea Army. Short of both food and water, they hold their ground until the relief troops arrive. 7th Infantry Division (United States)
The 7th Infantry Division is a non-deployable administrative headquarters of the United States Army based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It is charged with maintaining the capability of two Stryker infantry brigade combat teams, a combat aviation brigade, and a Division Artillery Unit, as well as preparing units for several U.S. Army Pacific yearly exercises. The Chinese spring offensive (), also known as the Chinese Fifth Phase Offensive (), was a military operation conducted by the Chinese People's Volunteer Army (PVA) during the Korean War. Mobilizing three field armies totaling 700,000 men for the operation, the Chinese command conducted their largest offensive operation since their Second Phase Offensive in November and December 1950.
