Mount Kongō
is a mountain in the Kongō Range in the Kawachi region of Osaka Prefecture, Kansai, Japan. It is near Mount Yamato Katsuragi. The mountain has lent its name to a series of naval ships and ship classes: the Imperial Japanese Navy's 1877 ironclad ''Kongō''; the 1912 battleship ''Kongō'', the name ship of her class; and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's current destroyer ''Kongō'' (DDG-173), also the name ship of her class. Fujii-dera (Yoshinogawa)
Fujii-dera (藤井寺) is a Zen Buddhist temple in Japan. It is the 11th site of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. History In 815, Kūkai , born posthumously called , was a Japanese Buddhist monk, calligrapher, and poet who founded the Vajrayana, esoteric Shingon Buddhism, Shingon school of Buddhism. He travelled to China, where he studied Tangmi (Chinese Vajrayana Buddhism) und ... visited the area and built a temple to house a statue of Yakushi Nyorai. The nearby mountains were ravaged by the fires during the Tenshō (Momoyama period), Tenshō period. In 1832, a fire destroyed most of the temple, the current building were finished in 1860. A Cloud Dragon design on the ceiling in the Main Hall of the temple was painted by a local artist in 1977.
