Škoda Auto Akciová společnost, a.s. Škoda Garde/Rapid
The Škoda Rapid/Garde is a fastback coupé designed and built by Škoda Auto, AZNP in Czechoslovakia between 1981 and 1990. Based on the Rear-engine design, rear-engined Škoda Type 742, Škoda 105, 120, and 130 Saloon (automobile), saloons, it was a replacement for the Škoda 110R Coupé built between 1970 and 1980. For the first few years, it was sold as the Škoda Garde in the Czech home markets and some export markets as well. The Rapid/Garde are internally known as Type 743 models, with the later 135/136 Rapids being referred to as Type 747. Škoda Rapid (India)
The Škoda Rapid is a subcompact sedan car produced by Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto exclusively for the Indian market, introduced in November 2011 and manufactured until 2021. The "Rapid" name was previously used in the 1930s for the Rapid (Type 901) and in the 1980s for the rear-engine Rapid coupé, and was also used for a larger sedan and hatchback for the European and Chinese market. Overview In October 2011, Škoda resurrected the Rapid nameplate for a rebadged version of the Volkswagen Vento, also made in India, with sales starting in November. The Rapid features a similar rear end design with the Vento, except for the taillights, but shares the front end design with the second-generation Škoda Fabia, to which however it is not directly related, the Rapid being based on the newer PQ25 platform of the Volkswagen Group. The Volkswagen Vento (or Volkswagen Polo Sedan in some markets) is a subcompact car produced by the Volkswagen India and Volkswagen Group Rus, Volkswagen Russia subsidiaries of the German manufacturer Volkswagen since 2010. It is essentially a three-box Volkswagen Polo with a stretched wheelbase and has been developed especially for some markets. The car is sold under the Vento nameplate in India, Malaysia, Brunei and Mexico. Škoda Rapid (2012)
The Škoda Rapid (NH) is range of small family car models produced by the Czech manufacturer Škoda Auto. It consists of three body styles: a 5-door liftback, a 5-door hatchback marketed as "Spaceback" and a 4-door sedan sold in China. The model is based on a B-segment-focused PQ25 platform. Another vehicle with the Rapid nameplate was also introduced in India in 2011, which is a rebadged and restyled Volkswagen Vento/Polo sedan. The liftback in its production form was first shown to the public in September 2012, when it was officially shown at the Paris Motor Show. Sales started in Czech Republic from 20 October 2012, and commenced at the end of 2012 in other parts of central and western Europe, with sales and production in Russia starting at the beginning of 2014.
