Ōka Shugi
is a trend or ideology in Japan that seeks to introduce various European institutions or cultures to advance modernization. Description This policy was adopted by the Meiji government in the 1880s to acknowledge the modernization of Japan in the European and American empires by using culture, institutions, customs, and customs as European styles. ''Ōka shugi'' policy was also intended to revise the unequal treaties signed by Japan with Western powers, including Ansei Treaties, and by making Japan's politics and culture European, Japan was recognized as a member of 'civilized countries' subject to international law. Chikamatsu Kiken Buto No Ryakuke
, real name , was a Japanese dramatist of jōruri, the form of puppet theater that later came to be known as bunraku, and the live-actor drama, kabuki. The ''Encyclopædia Britannica'' has written that he is "widely regarded as the greatest Japanese dramatist". His most famous plays deal with double-suicides of honor bound lovers. Of his puppet plays, around 70 are ''jidaimono'' (時代物) (historical romances) and 24 are ''sewamono'' (世話物) (domestic tragedies). The domestic plays are today considered the core of his artistic achievement, particularly works such as ''The Courier for Hell'' (1711) and ''The Love Suicides at Amijima'' (1721). Datsu-A Ron
"Datsu-A Ron" ( Japanese Kyūjitai: , Shinjitai: ) was an editorial published in the Japanese newspaper '' Jiji Shimpo'' on March 16, 1885 arguing that Meiji Japan should abandon the "conservative governments" of Qing China and Joseon Korea and align itself with the West. The title "Datsu-A Ron" has been translated in a variety of ways, including "Goodbye Asia" and "Leaving Asia". As such an idea was controversial at the time, it was written anonymously to avoid possible backlash, probably by author and educator Fukuzawa Yukichi.
