Česko hledá SuperStar () was the Czech Republic, Czech version of the Idol series which ran from 2004 to 2006. The show was broadcast on Czech Nova (Czech TV), TV Nova for three seasons. The first series was exceedingly popular, with the final in June 2004 being watched by 3.3 million people, an 84% viewership share. In 2009, ''SuperStar (Czech and Slovak TV series)'', a joint version between the Czech Republic and Slovakia, was launched. TV Nova is a commercial television station in the Czech Republic. It began broadcasting in February 1994 as the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station. Its first CEO was Vladimír Železný. Horní Slavkov (; ) is a town in Sokolov District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,400 inhabitants. Patrick Jurdić (''also known as'' Patrick Jurdič & Patrick Jurdic) (born 14 December 1985 in Vienna, Austria) is an Austro-Croatian singer who rose to popularity after winning '' Hrvatski Idol 2'', the Croatian version of ''Pop Idol'', shown by Nova TV. Additionally, he also took part in Austria's casting show Starmania and reached the top-12.
