Über Die Brücke Geh'n
Germany was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 with the song "", written by Hans Blum, and performed by Ingrid Peters. The German participating broadcaster on behalf of ARD, (BR), selected their entry through a national final. Before Eurovision (BR) held the German national final, , on 27 March at the Deutsches Theater in Munich, hosted by Sabrina Lallinger and Wenche Myhre. Myhre represented Germany in the 1968 Contest. Twelve songs made it to the national final, which was broadcast by BR to ARD broadcasters across West Germany. The winner was decided by a sampling of 500 random West Germans who were meant to symbolize a fair representation of the country's population. Each person gave every song a vote, from 1 (for worst) to 12 (for best). Therefore, the theoretical "worst score" a song could receive would be 500, and the "best score" would be 6000. ARD (broadcaster)
ARD is a joint organisation of Germany's regional Public broadcasting, public-service broadcasters. It was founded in 1950 in West Germany to represent the common interests of the new, decentralised, post-war broadcasting services—in particular the introduction of a joint television network. Ingrid Peters (born 19 April 1954) is a German singer. She represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 held in Bergen Bergen (, ) is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestland county on the Western Norway, west coast of Norway. Hans Blum (musician)
Hans Blum (23 May 1928 – 15 March 2024), also known as Henry Valentino, was a German singer-songwriter known for his distinctive musical style, which has been the inspiration of a generation of German musicians. His recordings include the hit single "Im Wagen vor mir." Career He wrote and conducted three entries that represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest: " Anouschka" (performed by Inge Brück in 1967), "Primaballerina" (performed by Siw Malmkvist in 1969), and " Über die Brücke geh'n" (performed by Ingrid Peters in 1986). He had a hit in 1977 with " Im Wagen vor mir" which was a duet with Uschi. Tragically Uschi passed away and Valentino re-recorded the song with Daffi Cramer. The Eurovision Song Contest 1986 was the 31st edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Wenche Synnøve Myhre (born 15 February 1947), known in German as Wencke Myhre, is a Norwegian singer who has had a great number of hit songs since the 1960s in the Norwegian, Danish, German and Swedish markets and languages. Bernd Meinunger (born 30 September 1944) is a German lyricist and record producer (with Hanne Haller) who frequently works with Ralph Siegel and David Brandes.
