''Last Days of the Victim'' () is a 1982 Argentine crime thriller film directed by Adolfo Aristarain and starring Federico Luppi. It was written by Aristarain and José Pablo Feinmann, and based on Feinmann's novel of the same name. The film was selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 55th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee. In a survey of the 100 greatest films of Argentine cinema carried out by the Museo del Cine Pablo Ducrós Hicken in 2000, the film reached the 23rd position. In a new version of the survey organized in 2022 by the specialized magazines ''La vida útil'', ''Taipei'' and ''La tierra quema'', presented at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the film reached the 36th position. Adolfo Aristarain
Adolfo Aristarain (born October 19, 1943) is an Argentina, Argentine film director and screenwriter who is famous for his filmic sophistication and subtle examination of issues of political oppression. ''Variety (magazine), Variety'' has deemed him "a master filmmaker." Biography Aristarain was born in Buenos Aires. After leaving Argentina, he started working as assistant director in the Arcente cinema, and then in Europe during his short exile for Mario Camus, Giorgio Stegani and Lewis Gilbert before returning to Argentina in 1974, following the death of Argentine president Juan Perón. His first 3 films did not receive favorable reviews, but in 1981 ''Tiempo de revancha'' received both critical acclaim and public success. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature length, feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English language, English dialogue. This is a list of submissions to the 55th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non- English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. Mónica Galán (October 16, 1950 – January 15, 2019) was an Argentine actress. She was a character actor seen on TV, film and in the theatre. Life Galán was born in 1950 in Buenos Aires. Galán graduated from the National School of Dramatic Arts and her first film appearance was in Daniel Tinayre's ''La Mary,'' starring Susana Giménez and Carlos Monzón in 1974. China Zorrilla
China Zorrilla (; born Concepción Matilde Zorrilla de San Martín Muñoz; 14 March 1922 – 17 September 2014) was an Uruguayan theater, film, and television actress, also director, producer and writer. An immensely popular star in the Rioplatense area, she is often regarded as a "Grand Dame" of the South American theater stage. After a long career in the Uruguayan theater, Zorrilla made over fifty appearances in Argentina's film, theater and TV. Her career took off in Uruguay in the 1950 and 1960s, later she settled in Argentina, where she lived for over 35 years and was popular on TV, theater, and cinema. At 90, she retired and returned to Uruguay, where she died in 2014. Arturo Maly (September 6, 1939 – May 25, 2001) was a Silver Condor Award–winning Argentina, Argentine actor. He made over 50 appearances in film and television in Argentina between 1970 and his death in 2001 making his debut in the TV series Esta noche... miedo in 1970. In 1981 he received a Silver Condor Award for Best New Actor for his work in the film ''Tiempo de revancha''.
